Trying to get someone to get away from The Hole is like offering to pull their teeth with no anesthesia.

Like why do you have to level a little bit faster? Why does the journey to 60 have to be the fastest route possible and in one of the most boring zones? Really, what is the rush, tell me? Am I out of touch?

I get it, I get it, I can't change anything. The ZEM is high, it's convenient, and there is always a group, what is not to love? I just wish people were more incented to go to other zones and level. It sucks. There is so much game being wasted I feel like.

OP just saying, I've seen tons and tons of groups not in hole. CoM/KC/Perma/Seb/Kedge/HHK/even Chardok. Don't be upset at those whos dlo the hole bc they don't like leveling, and just want it done. Go find people who do enjoy it and don't mind leveling in places like KC/HS(also warning some people don't level there bc of faction hits.)

Also, I don't know you, and not saying ur a bad player. But maybe you have a bad rep and that's why no one wants 2 group with you? Or your just a hybrid:)

TLP kinda solved this problem by making the ZEM based off of how many players you have

So you’re less likely to see op classes duo’ing in Kedge or HHK when they can get way more experience by inviting classes that can’t really solo, but are the backbone of a nuclear group

Can't believe people play in that shit zone. I don't think I've ever had fun there, besides maybe a group on red or the times I helped DPS down to the ranger epic fight. I do know I was always glad to leave. Golems had too many HP. If my max backstabs wouldn't visibly drop the health bar, I wasn't having a good time.

I don't usually care about a little bit faster, but sometimes the high ZEM zones seem to be hugely faster. I didn't do much hole, but I did move with a group that couldn't get a camp in CT to Lower Guk's BR once. It didn't feel like "this is a little bit worse." It felt like "this is so bad we shouldn't have bothered."

Theres 5 people at spectres in Feerott but they are all soloing.

If u just added ppl to a grp at spectres you could all cover for eachother and split loot out equally by having someone vendor without slowing the killing.

The problem is everyone twinks so hard buying their next alts epic with DKP (or whatever else is unmentionable) that they don't even need the scythe or gem plat and don't want to grp or collaborate.

No one plays eq, they just AFK to fill up space while they youtube.

I recommend yall just log off ur pixels and tab between Chortles twitch and whatever other weirdo videos u watch online.

Its funny because before the ZEM boost it was nearly impossible to get people to go TO the hole, even though it still was really good exp pre bump up.

The zones you should complain about being so populated that people refuse to leave are CoM and Karnor's castle. Both of those zones BLOW for xp. Sol b is far superior.

The Hole is one of the most underrated zones in Everquest history. I applaud the P99 team for making it an attractive zone to level in. The ZEM change was needed in order to attract people to such a place. Alternatives to the Hole for leveling are surprisingly slim for a group of 46+ adventurers.

My other favorite zone besides the Hole is Velketor's. Sadly, monsters have more HP and because there are less people there, you have a lower chance at getting help should your group wipe. That's always been a reality with EQ is asking yourself and your group members, is the reward worth the risk? Does a 1 to 2 hour CR sound like something people are willing to chance when they're limited on time? For the unemployed player base here, I'm sure there is no complaint. For the working players, it takes long enough to get everyone together to even enter a dungeon, they just want to jump in and play ASAP. Thus, the Hole offers the best convenience for the casual players.

Velks, HS, Sebilis, KC (lol I guess basement is alright or if you can pull 3/4 the zone), Sol b efreeti camp or LDC, Kedge Keep, upper levels of CoM, there are tons of places to go in mid high 50s.

Along with "don't eat the yellow snow", grandma also taught me to embrace the grind, and that Leveling was over rated.
I had a great time kicking and punching rats, snakes, skellies and ork pawns in the freeport zones as a new player. There is just something about grinding out the exp and looting the corpses. Every copper was saved up for food or water until I could afford some nice cured silk garments. Those felt so smooth and silky.
The grind is the thing. Embrace it.
