Very different reasons to play either of them, but the points you're making are often the reason I run around on Red. Pick a self-sufficient class to start with on Red (Druid is an easy solo with solid utility for avoiding PvP) and see how it goes.

Well. 4 years isn't in the cards for me. I've already spent an entire decade off and on here and gotten 3 clerics, and wizards up there on red and blue, but no success with being BIS or raids lol. Tbh the minute I ding 50 causes me to usually go mess with other games or wow mythics because of the serious level of instant cringe and regret from trying to interact with other level 60s here.

Irony being that OP is one of the most mentally unwell people on the forum and the raid scene is largely populated by responsible adults with WFH jobs, lives, and families.

There's tons of unemployed nutcases out there in more casual guilds and just solo farming and hoarding plat, arguably they are more attracted to those things than raiding guilds which tend to be highly structured, organized, rules based, and require a fair amount of social skills to navigate.

The game ends at lvl 60 and there is very little sub lvl 30 content in classic. On live there's a ton of sub lvl 90 content accessible to everyone with a weekend an heroic character.

On green the lvl 50+ content is either completely devoid of players or there's so many people it's just a contest of who can sit logged in the longest or how efficiently can you farm plat.

I'm not knocking classic, but it drys up fast and it wasn't meant to be played for a decade. Most of those playing classic for a decade are completely not casual even if they can spin a great tale about their wife (box) afk over at whatever camp for plat. People don't level in bronze and it's even getting to the point where people in banded on green are either scoffed and laughed at or simply ignored for not "putting in the work for at least an FBSS and Fungi".

For p99 to be casual friendly pixels need to cease to matter and people need to learn to adventure and camp less than ideal spots out in the open world and sky.

Where's the pick up groups at EK gnolls? Where's the 3 kids killing griffins over by the bridge? Why is orc pass only monopolized by 1 bard guy with an AoE song in rainbow armor? Oh, yeah, DA idol.

On live i would always do lvl 15-25 over at orc pass, in a full grp. With a waiting list. Of rag tag newbies. I did that after a 16 hr work day with gym and a shower worked in. For two hours, on an sk wearing raw-hide. Because of the ringmail drops.

Maybe if people spent more time at suboptimal random spots, chilling and goofing around (rather than optimally swarming, aoeing, or thornsing) whole zones dead. The spirit of the Vision could return to Norrath.

I am most certainly a casual in the play time I put in. When I DO play, I play with character progression goals in mind and I actively work toward something, be it the next level or knocking out a certain epic piece. I'm in pretty good gear on green and I maintain a raid attendence between 5-10%.

For those with severe mental disorder, social isolation. Anxiety. Or some other form of manic, or compulsive disorders on disability, the sky is the limit really. And I am ok with that. I've come to accept that over the last few years.

Totally macequest. I literally spend more time playing League of Legends and Overwatch than I do EverQuest. That 200+ hours is misleading AF too because over half of it was me being AFK on Aradune to avoid losing my summoned items.

The last time I logged onto TLP I realized I couldn't charm guards, and there went my idea for making some quick plat, so I typed /quit and legit don't give a fuck.

My main focus right now is physical fitness, MMA and fucking bitches, and I'm not even remotely kidding. May play during Kunark launch or shortly after when the July 4th experience boost hits, but even that is doubtful. I come to life when warm weather hits and there's like a dozen different women I can fuck right now but I'm trying to be patient and space them out.

I’ve gone from casual to hardcore and everything in between over the years and I disagree. You can accomplish most realistic goals on this game no matter your playtime, just don’t expect to get Vulak loot or some other unreachable feat that requires competing with the sweat lords. When I started p99 I wanted to get epics for classes I didn’t get the chance to on live and to have some cool fashioned out characters.

OP doesn't seem to understand people change their playstyles and can go from raiding full time to PVE'ing the content for fun and casually. It's how one can meet people out there, adventuring. Everyone should take breaks as well, it's great for you.

On P99 the same rules are enforced only towards Conservatives. You can be a foreigner and make a ton of xenophobic threads that generalize all Americans in bigoted fashion, but if you tried to make similar threads about Mexico or China you would get insta banned.

If you’re going to enforce rules then do so equally and fairly.
