How many chat windows do you have?

Just curious how many chat windows you have open and for what fitters? I normally have 2-3. 1 is always auctions in case I go to EC, 1 is all chats, and the other is spells etc.

Does anyone separate these out anymore?

1 for guild/group/shout/ooc, 1 for OTHER's melee hits/auction/other, And one chat window that is the width of Numbers/"Miss" to show my own damage.

On my melee dps characters I have a hit damage window between main chat and combat chat. Which shows only the melee damage number.

Normally, just the one Main Chat. Though it depends on which class I'm playing. Melee chars I move combat text to a second window. Pet classes have a Pet Hits window. Basically, I move stuff that "spams" Main Chat to other windows so I can keep up with "real" chat. I also always have others' hits/misses filtered out.

How do you get the chat window to only show the damage number?

Right click and it's under the "hitsmode" options. Make sure you don't make the window too small - if it tries to show text and can't because it's too small eqgame.exe will crash.

I am at 12 for my monk. Every character gets a unique layout and channels filtered differently.

You have 2 group windows.

Main chat, ooc, auction, guild, group, spells, melee me and mob (number only), target, breath,tell and skills.
Some like skills, melee, spells and tell are small.
that would be 11. If you can think of some I could use, let me know, there is room.

I use 3. One for all chat, one for combat (incoming damage, my damage, my pet damage, and spell casts), and last is minimized as a filter window for all the crap I don't want to see.

Also, no chat boxes for me.
