View Full Version : Equivalent "power" boost of Fungi but for int casters?

Recently got a fungi (my first one ever!) and as much as I love wearing it on a lowbie shammy, I'm wondering: What is an equivalently powerful item for int casters? I don't mean specifically for regen. I mean anything that is roughly 55k and OP for newbies / lowbies.

Special case: Clerics can wear fungi but don't get anywhere near the value from it as melee and shammies do. (At least not without manastone)

Flowing thought items? Prob not easy to obtain on newbies, so sorry if youre like DUH I SAID FOR NEWBIES!

I know you said you don't mean for regeneration, but for Necromancers regeneration is actually a huge help. Since they can't wear a Fungi, the next best tradeable item they can use is the (much more expensive): https://wiki.project1999.com/Zlandicar%27s_Heart.

But as Jib noted, for Int casters you want mana regen, not HP regen (ie. you want Flowing Thought or a mana stone/robe). Almost all FT gear is No Drop, with only two exceptions:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Choker_of_the_Wretched
https://wiki.project1999.com/Crown_of_Narandi

Just like the heart though, both of those are much more expensive than a Fungi. There's nothing even close to a Fungi in power for Int casters in that price range.

P.S. Specific classes have key powerful items that are under a Fungi's cost though. For instance, https://wiki.project1999.com/Burnt_Wood_Staff for a Mage, or a https://wiki.project1999.com/Goblin_Gazughi_Ring for Enchanters.

People forgetting OP said around 55k not 200k, lol.

There's nothing that compares to the fungi in terms of price/value and arguably nothing compares to it regardless of price. For a single item on Blue I'd say probably pre-nerf CoS for a necro if we are talking in the 50k range.

For the rest of the INT casters probably just a combination of velious armor LRs and stuff like that.

One time well before velious I worked hard to obtain a ragefire heart because my memory was that was the zlandicar heart.

My team was like, why this enchanter want this heart so bad but thanks for passing on all the blazing ro.

MFW I loot a ragefire heart with no regeneration:

You could buy a bunch of these and toss some high damage weapons on them. putting armour on them will help too

By around level 20 though those tricks aren't going to be doing much for you relatively speaking.

there isnt really an uber int caster item thats 50kish.

A lot of scrolls are great bang for buck - much more powerful than a fungi for far fewer pp. of course the downside is once they are scribed you can’t liquidate them.

Yeah the trade-off for casters is they are much cheaper and easier to gear, but gear doesn't have as much of an impact.

The only thing that really makes a similar impact to a fungi is other regen or clicky items. Even flowing thought has very little impact.

You're getting 21 mana/tic at level 60 meditating. FT1 adds 4.7% to that. FT2 is 9%.

You're getting 7 hp/tic at lvl 60 sitting (non iksar/troll). Fungi adds 214% to that.

So to answer the OP's question: nothing is equivalent to the power boost that melee get from a fungi, at least, not for 55k.

A more interesting question might be, what are some notable "game changer" clickies that come close to the equivalent of a fungi power boost:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Donal%27s_Chestplate_of_Mourning (free CH)

and of course, epics.

Velious mage robe 24 pt DS was as good or better than Fungi. Not sure which robes if any work at lvl 1 now
