Best class that doesn't need to go into the Rais drama to be good?

I know how bad is the raiding on this server and on EQ in general so I am not looking forward to even get there but the leveling experience and the overal world of EQ is really good for me so I want to know:


A class that doesn't need Raiding gear to be good
Can I buy this gear from someone else or it is bind on pick up?
Is Blue server the best one to play since most people are already geared (I suppose) and I would have a better chance there?


I just don't like non instanced raids, its a very bad game design IMO but newer MMOS solve this and solve melee classes being boring and useless by adding them skills and resources but sadly they become stupid themeparks with no actual challenge or their entire world is pointless.

1. Enchanter, Necromancer or Magician
2. Above classes barely need gear, but yes can purchase from players
3. Blue has cheaper prices on gear

No class needs raiding gear to be good.

The solo classes (druid, necro, shaman, enchanter) are the easier classes to enjoy the game in without a group.

As a druid you can teleport and solo and make friends and explore. Highly reccomend.

But any solo class is good for adventuring about.

Other classes are fine, but these classes have tools that make them better than the others for just doing what you feel like.

Bards are one of the least gear-dependent classes; grab a drum and lute from your local guild hut vendor and be on your merry way. That said, no class needs raid gear but certain classes that do raid benefit from BiS more so than others. If wanting your epic, some of those will require more raiding than others with the reward usually being very useful for the given class.
