Honestly I'm still only playing on Green right now because I have more in wealth here (plus a box of abu-kar) and because my sister has her one and only decently leveled character here. Atm, if I were to roll a new character, Blue looks far more appealing with their lower population, more relaxed atmosphere, and occasional open raids.

Not really. The merge isn’t what has me playing on Blue sometimes now. It’s the simple fact that they are almost at the same stage of progression so there’s not much motivation to play on Green the entire time since I can experience almost all of the same content on Blue.

Even if Green didn’t merge you still have essentially the same problem of it being “all for naught” at the end of the day when they start a new Green.

Yeah I mean these servers basically end, so it makes sense to archive your work on blue and you can play at max level with whatever you had for as long as you like and continue to raid and adventure there, and then if you want to do the Journey part again, do it again on the new server. No reason not to.

Neither do I. Just said it because some people don’t want a merge because they feel like all of their progress has been for nothing on Green in that case. But they don’t realize that time locked progression is always all for naught technically, because there will always be a new server at some point and so whether you merge or not doesn’t matter from that perspective.

i think there is a few reason people dont want to merge:

1) blues economy is kinda jacked up since its been out for 10 years
2) some people like the green servers limitations
3) 7 days and epic mobs targets are already super contested, merging will just make it moreso a problem
4) and youll be competing against BIS guilds who have been playing for 10 years

i'm kinda divided. on one hand, i like a healthy population (1k+ active players is a good place to be) and some of the QOL changes for blue might be nice (pet window, tab targeting). i also kinda like that we play on a server without those things too though, its a unique and different challenge, and part of the reason lots of us play this game is because its challenging. i do feel that getting dumped into the server will cause more people to leave than return (even though the single server will have a bigger population). the guild dynamics will be weird too, since many people played on blue and have characters in guilds there. either way, i do believe they will make a green 2.0 and i think they dont want to end up with a server population like red.

1) Green's economy will be jacked up too by the last patch of the Velious timeline. Certainly not quite as bad as Blue's but it will definitely be mudflated and not merging isn't going to prevent it from getting worse.

2) There will be a new Green to roll on complete with all limitations.

This is an oft-repeated myth. The vast majority of the high end raid scene on green is not made up of hardcore blue raiders.

Do you pay attention to the server pop? Blue and green are mostly the same on a daily basis. Usually at prime time blue is like 100 people higher. And you realize that like a third of greens population is literally playing simultaneously on blue on a second computer right?

Yeah blue is never 100 people higher, at the time of my post there was 600people on blue and close to 900 on green.

Lol what world are you living in? On average blue and green pop are very close to each other. And again you seem to be blind to the fact that a ton of people on green are playing simultaneously on blue on a second computer. They are literally playing on both servers at the same time (which is allowed) so no one seems to mind blue.

You also just made up that the server staff are reconsidering lol. Th TVs always said the intent is to eventually merge. By the time they do (which I believe would be like 18 months from now maybe) green will be mudflated and ready for a fresh start. The staff aren’t gonna pay for green to stay open when the open green 2.0 lol. Are you going to pay for it?

When you log in, look at the server numbers and do a lil math.

blue pop is always about 75% of green pop, all the time. literally at all times. its uncanny. any time of day/night.

In no way shape or form does that amount to a "comparatively dead" server, by your logic, P99 would be a "comparatively dead" project.
