Depends on the state, but generally you can't be held liable for something that you do without expectation of compensation unless you were really reckless or negligent in the work you did.

My wife prety much agree your assessment of the situation.for insurance he need a licensed plumber bill so he probably got that angry fat clone of Mario to show up told him i did the repair so he lost money since seem a regular plumber in new york city is 120$ hour and the nut job from jersey come to my door to threat me.
