Could Also do like other game do and have zones that are pvp only. Would probably need to be custom content, but could work.

Guildwars permenantly enabled. Only guilds tagged people get to do dragons and raid mobs. Otherwise if unguilded try to loot they just get disconnected.

Unguilded. Are safe from all pvp tho.

Although, PVP not really my thing though. I don't get the appeal behind it. The idea of being on a server where bunch of higher level players run around griefing lower level players all the time doesn't really sound like my idea of fun. I would rather stick to pve only servers.

The dungeons being raid zones suck. It's eq tho.

People could get to 50 without any pvp. Maybe 55.

What if attacking a raid mob just made you pvp for 24 hrs? So the mobs just flag ppl pvp.

I understand the desire to nerd out over potential pvp rules more than most, but I feel like the beautiful simplicity of this idea is not getting through to people.

Those whining about green being too top-heavy now have a brand new server to experience before the green ---> blue rollover. Yellow rolls into red eventually, possibly reinvigorating the red server end game in time. New pvp ruleset possible on yellow, but not necessary. Maybe the second time yellow goes around a new ruleset is thought up and attempted.

With green and yellow server resets being staggered, those wanting that fresh experience will get it more often. Most players stay on green/blue, but overall more people are playing yellow/red than just red alone.

The masses rejoice. Rogean and Nilbog's benevolent dedication is celebrated in the streets around the world.

It just makes sense.

The same people that are claiming PVP servers are just for griefers prolly never played on a PVP server or aren't very good at EQ to begin with.

I just started on red again and players literally go out of their way to help people level. Ya, they may be raising their prey, but its far from what is being suggested.

Common misconception. Other than the few raid zones that are free for all zones, there is a +-4 level range limit to pvp on red and coin loot only.

tallon zek had a +/-6 lvl pvp rule, so that wasnt an issue on live. and it was race-based pvp: elves, shorties, dark races, humans. not sure what the rules on Red are though.

It's +/- 4 on red (used to be 8).

You are correct. EQ is not designed for PVP unless like everyone was forced to play the same class and you could only attack people the same level as you. That would kinda be balanced, but the base game is so wildly unbalanced for pvp. Hence red has always been a ghosttown.

The essence of pvp is that you're not always going to have a balanced fight in any game. If it was fair every time then it wouldn't be enjoyable. I feel like some of you guys need to actually play something that involves other people outside of sending each other to elf court.
