I'd like to start over on a new server with the proper timeline. Has there been any talk of a green 2.0?

Wasn't the Green 1.0 timeline "proper"?

The fate of green is still undetermined, it's up to 'current management' to decide when the time comes. Some discussions about keeping green forever or merging it into blue have arisen.
The only solid info we did receive was that green will continue at least half a year after the final patch. Of course this may be subject to change but that's what we were told.

edit: Please refer to green "1.0" as Green (2019), that is when it was launched. This way we can better keep separate timelines.
edit2: also software versioning (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning) in non-applicable because the end result is technically 1.0 (perfect classic emulation). So if you attempted to apply software versioning Green (2019) would be more like version 0.8 or in other terms BETA.
edit3: In regards to Teal, it was a measure taken due to high population during the classic era. To help spread out the player base and reduce tension on players & staff. The only reason Teal would return is in a situation that caused it in the first place. Teal was merged into green with kunark era due to more zones to spread the population out across. Also by that point the lower level density had decreased enough.
Teal merged before Kunark.

Teal merged before Kunark.
Yeah, I thought that may have been the case but didn't take the time to go verify dates.
None the less, the reasons for teal's closure which I presented are still true.

Yup it was just so that people could level in the newbie zones without camping a single spawn

I then moved to leveling in Rathe Mountains camping single hill giant spawns instead. Much better.

Yes, there will be one. A series of classic timeline servers is the ultimate goal of Project 1999. This is what it's all about. Classic-Kunark-Velious, over and over. They haven't announced a date for the next Green yet.

For the most part, but not 100%. There were little details that got screwed up, like druid tracking not being updated at the proper time, the NK merchant area being bindable at launch and then fixed to be non-bindable in the correct era but now it's still not bindable even though it's supposed to be; and people exploiting Red Wood Wands to quad on any class and level a bunch of alts too quickly. The staff will continue to polish this sort of thing up as we go through each iteration of the timeline.

I have a feeling if they launched a Green 2.0 and a Teal 2.0 simultaneously, they would both be insanely crowded on day 1 and it would require yet another server. I still think Teal was a mistake, it only took a few days for the level ranges to stratify to the point where people weren't camping single spawns in newbie zones anymore, but I get why they did it.

Why are we even talking about a green 2.0 when we still don't have a red 2.0??

Maybe initial population will be less on subsequent P99 timeline servers after Green 2019. Like, maybe the novelty will wear off and it'll seem like less of a "limited opportunity" thing. I tend to be optimistic, though.

I think it will really depend how Green 1.0 end of life is handled. If it's dumped into Blue I'm guessing a lot of people will level toons on as many new servers as possible for the manastone investment.

I dunno. Leveling to 35 on a new server to farm 4 days for a manastone that you can collect on your actual server of choice 2-3 years later seems like a dum.. oh what the hell am I saying, of course people will!
That said it's a minority who're willing to farm manastones and yes I do think green generated a fair bit of returning players that we may not see on a new server and that players who started on green will at least some prefer to stay on old green or blue whatever may come to pass. So yeah I wouldn't be surprised if a Green 2.0 server would have a smaller population than previous Green unless of course the community has grown as a whole since Green launch.

Depends on when Green merges I think. If it merges shortly after the last Velious patch, say Q3 or Q4 next year, not sure we will see a massive influx beyond current pop levels for Green 2.0.
I think part of the Green 1.0 excitement was that Blue has been around for like 8 or 9 years at that p;oint and people were excited for a new start.
