Regarding the Raid in PoG on Saturday

This past Saturday night i was visiting PoG Fides" to do a couple turn ins for the Helm Of Tracker Quest and i noticed the zone was already cleared- Ran around for a bit to explore and came across Tunares body with the Whip on it. Thinking it was gonna rot, i looted it, not sure made the best call but it was in the moment and no one was there. I ended up getting a Suspension for it. If that item was on anyone's radar, i apologize about that. Anyway. I want to make the situation right, so here i am

The corpse was gone before people finished clearing the zone... your full of shit

unfortunately, the member that won the bid for that item intended it to go to a toon who was not on the encounter log, so he cannot receive it now.

Appreciate you posting, not the first and surely not the last instance of this kind of thing happening. only pixels at the end of the day, so I think everyone will probably continue to live despite this.

I think it's pretty understandable. Before I started raiding I spent a lot of time looking at magelo pages and it seemed like tooooons of characters have super high end loot. I don't feel like it's THAT unreasonable to think no one needed a particular drop. Now that I do raid I realize that would never be the case, but i wouldn't sweat it too much.

You took your licks, apologized, and made no excuses. That counts for a lot IMHO

For anti ninja you should have 30 seconds after the corpse timer till its full open and if your dumb guildies steal it you get to remove from guild and KOS them for the rest of their lives. If your enemy steals it you're dumb.

just as easy to enforce as this rule, except instead of the corpse timer not mattering, the corpse timer fully matters.

The things done to accommodate some player made nonsense DKP system that totally nerf the open world nature of the game is ridiculous. You might as well just get DKP points from dragons and turn them into a dragon merchant or something if thats how you want the game to be playeD (I certainly don't)

Just so you are aware, sometimes loot stays on a raid boss's corpse for a while because the person who won the item is switching to another character and running it over. Once in a blue moon it does rot if the person was way too far away, but that is rare. You should never assume a raid boss corpse is available for loot, even if nobody is around. In PoG the raid would move on and leave the corpse (the whole zone is easily accessible once it's clear, you don't need a CoTh mage or anything). They wouldn't wait for the body to be looted, because the assumption is it won't be looted by anyone.

Yup. Otherwise you would be incentivized to steal items, because you would still have the item after the suspension. So they delete the items to discourage players from ninja looting.

Firstly, the idea that a 15/21 weapon usable by six different classes would rot is preposterous. :/ That weapon will never, ever rot on any P99 server. I mean, any guild that can kill Tunare has a horde of 46+ alts that could be on the way to loot https://wiki.project1999.com/Braid_of_Golden_Hair .

Secondly, did you ask in /ooc before looting? <-- Always, always do this. Were there other players in the zone? You said "no one was there," but I doubt it. Maybe no one was by the corpse, but I'd bet the massive raid of dozens of people had moved on to another area of the zone to kill more raid mobs.

Thirdly, if the zone was, in fact, empty, you should have waited til the corpse timer got low out of consideration for the people who are, in all likelihood, coming to loot the item. And do not lock the corpse while waiting.

Lastly, whatever guild killed Tunare and left her corpse on the ground should have locked the corpse. Just have some low-DPS character lock the corpse. However, this is not to be construed as an excuse for others to loot a corpse without permission.

Bottom line, you NEVER loot valuable items from a mob you didn't kill unless the person who kills it gives you explicit permission to take it. And you always lock corpses to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
