God, these merchants hit harder than guards. Waltz on through and they're dubious, but if a guard kos' you then suddenly merchant turns into god of war and 2 shots you. When did this get patched in ?? Highkeep feels like a raid zone now just walking through while kos.

I think it's to discourage people from griefing others by killing merchants even though they don't give xp. Because some people are actually douchey enough that they'd do that.

Although killing guards is kind of griefing others, if unintentionally. Can't tell you how many times I've been leveling an alt in north karana and get in trouble and run to the sk bridge only to find all the guards dead. Then I zone into sk and crash, because of course.

Merchants = raid mobs.

So true. The guards at the NK/SK bridge have to have the shortest life expectancy of any NPC in the game!

I think it had more to do with the fact that enchanters would charm merchants and kill everything with them as pet in any zone… enough players complained they couldnt access their favorite merchants for tradeskills and such and … voila ! Merchants have become the wrath of all NPC out there…
