Basically what the title says, i tried to lower some graphic settings and the game would crash just starting it so i reverted back and now i make it to the server menu. then crashes with memory error. So aggravated.:mad::mad::mad:
Usually a resolution issue:

Yeah none of that works. Also why do the character files sometimes only show up. i looked before and they were not there. They are not showing up for someone else.

didnt work until i turned compadibility mode back off. so the old crashing when logging issue and others now are there. I also have to redo all my UIs. workled on one for almost 30 minutes and not even close to being done. ugh. Thanks for your help.
Move your install out of Program Files. The client can only write to that location if you use "run as administrator" on the eqgame.exe shortcut, hence why you don't always see your character's ini files (they're in your user directory).
Easiest workaround is to not have the game in Program Files.

Same issue started for me today as well. Tried Changing the aspect ratio as well as every other fix I could find, but still getting the same memory error…I’ve been playing on this same pc for years…ugh

This finally worked for me for now: Copied the entire "game"/EQP99 to a different SSD on the same machine. Ran the game out of the new directory and it worked...for now.

turned compatibility mode back on today and it works normally again. think it had to do with the server attack or whatever was going on yesterday
