Twinking a monk..

hey guys, I have a 20ish level human monk that I will be leveling once I get my other toon to 60 which should be soon... I have a bout 20k to spend on him... Other than obvious HP rings what gear should I look for?

twinkink a monk is easy - fungi + haste item + tstaff = you're done. even before the tstaff procs, it's probably about as good as you can buy. if your budget is stretched, get an IFS, probably about as good as tstaff up to the point the latter starts to proc.

other than that? grab some 6/65 rings, and anything else that has good HP or worn STA that you can afford.

Hp ear. Fill rest of slots with whatever has hp (crystal spider eyes, dragon tooth choker, tar goo strands, dragonscale boots)

camp the Pearlescent Mask in Kedge which grants serpent sight , relatively common spawn and fairly common drop, pull it to zone and boom

I was thinking of rolling a half elf warrior and dying some fine plate with the golden wooden crook or treant staff and pretending to be a plate wearing monk, or that goblin staff :p

I remember on live because ppl had these 'sub-optimal' items on perma farm and floating around in mules longer than they had dragons on perma farm there was a ton more of these things in the economy than those 50/40 +100 hp +15 all resist procs stun, root, slow, regen, mr debuff, avatar, and blind simultaneously items.
