Leaning towards a Guise wielding paladin for the ultimate (non-iksar) FQ. I played a pally when I started here years ago and it was the most fun class I've had grouping-wise.

I essentially missed green at the start due to RL, but really looking forward to 2.0 and enjoying the grouping aspects from start to finish from a leveling perspective.

I voted Enchanter, because I still haven't played one past level 20, and I'm looking forward to the new "closer to classic" Enchanter that should be ready by then.

I've never played wizard but I'm saving that for teams/pvp green. Ill go with maybe gnome wizard and nuke you while you're trying to exp or CR from the tree's above.

Funny thing, PGT wasn't originally LORE on classic, I know cause i wrecked with my dual weilding PGT ranger back in the day. But on Green is started out as LORE. Pretty lame

Probably Troll SK. Might as well start the pain train early. Though I haven't done Paladin yet and have been impressed with their usefulness this time around. So I may waffle.

Wiz or Dru will happen at some point as well. And I will definitely start a Necro after Kunark.

Not sure I see the point in me playing on a new Green server.

Leveling is harder, which isn't really a good thing. The game doesn't become more fun because you have to kill 400 hermits instead of 200 with your SK.

Zones are packed but there wasn't that much grouping ever since the ZEM changes. So it really only translated to you having to wait longer to find an open camp since every spawn and their grandmother was camped 24/7.

They nerfed hill giants making plat farming more difficult for classes that can't dungeon solo.

They nerfed combat bind wound making melee even rougher to level.

Manastone would be worth it IF I wanted to spend 4 days on end clicking a box. That's not fun to me and I gave up long ago playing games that aren't fun to me. "Oh once I get X item or hit X level THEN the game will begin!" is a phenomenon all too common in MMOs and its a classic pitfall.

However, if the population dwindles on old green or the economy and community gets eradicated with a blue merger, I may still play on a new green.

Last time I went with Wizard which I really do regret. Had I known raiding wasn't my thing I wouldn't have attempted it. Just waiting for hours during a window for a boss to spawn, rush in and instakill a boss and having one guild vaccuum up all the loot and having a system that protects all loot of significance from being allotted to anyone who doesn't have EQ as their 2nd job... it just wasn't for me. Quadding in classic is extremely limited and it DOES get old pretty fast once you're at it. You are terrible in groups and can't solo anything with a decent chunk of HP. The epic is incredibly hard to get even an active raider. Portals are a nice QoL thing but doesn't weigh up for the downsides.

So I guess I'd consider Shaman, Necro or Enchanter. I'd be also be tempted to go SK or Ranger because I hate myself and can't learn from past mistakes.

- Necro makes sense because I love FD and I LOVE guk but it'd pain me not ever being able to get epic or shissar staff or encyclopedia necrotheurgia, because I won't/can't raid enough to acquire any of those items. Also, once Kunark hits you'll have some serious tail-envy.

- Shaman is similar, if I won't farm manastone I don't see myself getting the plat to actually be able to afford Torpor, Epic and all that to be able to solo worthwhile camps.

- Enchanter is stressful but it makes sense for someone who doesn't wanna raid.

- Ranger and troll SK could be fun but without gear, with XP pen and very little in the way of spells it would be a slog and a half.

Green 2 will probably be one or two years after red 2 at least. A firm date will probably not be given but if pop is healthy they might give red 2 a clean no competition run like they did with green, which red 1 never enjoyed as kunark launched on both servers simultaneously (virtually)

People that just fought through day one on green probably want a bit of time to enjoy velious at the top before they join with the blue velious raiders.

P99 team seems to like to take care of the top end of the player base so I bet there will be some time before a new PvE server. Everyone else is wringing their hands for a new start but I do think the green raid guys should have a bit of time to relax

also not classic experience at all, as no servers but the original servers launched with manastone. Might as well have 2 gold piece egg shaped pumices in game so we can all fill 500 alts entire inventories with rechargeable instant dispell clickies too, since that was also a legacy item on live.

Need custom implementation of all items intended to be nerfed, and bind spots like tim deep should be either custom implementation or possibly just never bindable at all.

I like being cool and having all my gate classes bound there but druid and wizzie ports were supposed to be required for convenient travel. If it's in game I'm gunna do it but it pretty much shouldn't be in the game.

Part of the entire point of making in-game money is to be able to twink a new char. Not interested in playing another solo class just to grind out tons of money to make a hybrid or melee suck less

So I pick enchanter on green 1.0 aka blue aka the high level shitshow zerg

Edit: also not interested in sitting in a line for 15 hours to camp some legacy items. Camping anything in this game is fucking boring. Pass. Super pass.

On PVE I can kinda relate. I had a tough call not making a toon on green but I really didn’t have play time and my friends I tried to recruit for training for pvp never really got going (so they would learn to progress in the game and then learn pvp skills).

But I had the neat stuff I wanted on blue already. You gotta be in the right place to re-grind

That’s why I don’t think there will be a fresh blue server for a while. A lot of green players just got to level 60, let them enjoy their server community for as long as possible. Some late starts will be wishing for a new server but it’s gunna be some time for a PVE.

I think red 2 is coming very soon and will be a good chance for people that missed the early green boat to start on a fresh server. There’s nothing like a fresh classic pvp server where everyone is progressing and some people wanna hold you back and other people want to support you so you can keep progressing together. It’s good stuff and good friends forged in the heat of pvp battles.

-After playing a troll shaman for a while now, an exp bonus race will be a very welcome break.
-Bristlebane is an inoffensive diety, meaning a guise will open up almost all of the few remaining closed doors city-wise.

Would just have to make acquiring a few things a priority; jboots, guise and pegasus cloak to name a few. Probably a manastone too.
