Big Reason: Your reputation matters in this game. So if you sell a character, they are buying your reputation. Something to consider when you think you might eventually sell a toon.

um..if developers really dont change first names,they shouldnt list it in petition forum..

You have gotten better at research (1) Naming Policy (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=17488)
The part refering to name change could be old and refer to changing first names but I am fairly sure that refers to surnames.

From the above post:

Forename changes initiated by the player. Please be judicious in choosing your character's names, and understand that it is a currency of reputation that cannot be discarded.

Hmmm... how many people on this server have such a bad reputation that would go so far as to have their first name changed?

Hypothetical situation (or quite real):

What if about a year ago a GM went on a rampage changing names across norrath and ran into a lonely shaman who was afk and dead, changed his name while afk. that particular shaman had to wait several hours to get his corpse back by another GM who helped him out by changing his name back, letting him loot the corpse, and then changing it back to the crappy name that was given to him by the GM on a rampage.

Would said shaman be able to get a name change?

Probably. We have logs of commands to confirm if that was the case.

I had expended much time to provide information and names as much as possible..

I assure you! i am not ignoring your petition thread....I do not have the permissions to even read that forum.

If i had to guess there are several hundred petition threads. Likely they haven't made it to yours yet.

At any rate - whatever happens in that forum isn't my business. I'm not kewl enuff to get in the door!
