Solo Self-Found Char

Does anyone have any experience with making a solo char where you cant group/trade other players or buy non stock items off vendors? I remember seeing a dwarf warrior doing it and I wanted to see if anyone else tried it as well.

Also what do you guys think the best class would be for this? Going out and getting all your own drops solo without outside help or trade etc.

There was a guild at one point that played entirely on self earned loot no selling / buying .. no PLing.. I think they are still around.

Auld Lange Sign is still around, they are the "authentic" players. Operate within their own economy, etc. It's like hell level for EQ :) I give 'em props, I don't have the patience to do that though, hah.

i havent bought anything yet on any of my characters and looted/gave away some pbbs and a kobold hide boots

i did accept a sporestrand shield tho

idk i mean u can refuse really goooood items or give them away/sell them to fund alts or buy lesser / rp items that wont ruin ur experience! when u do that the items are still being 'enjoyed' and dopa is still getting pumped!

You will want to roll a necro.

You really don’t need to buy anything at all especially on blue servers.

But not grouping means you’re gunna wanna be a necro if you want a jolly linear path.

Any class can do this, but some classes will be above to get through more content and nore easily.

I like to do the self found gear thing, but without leaning on solo - for me a big part of the game is grouping... even if grouping with twink skewers the risk/reward.

You have given me the idea of doing a character with which one could group for xp / plat, but only use equipment found or made solo.

best class would be Bard, can do this naked from 1-60 if you felt like it.

It was probably easy enough with non classic bandaging before the nerf. As long as you were happy soloing light blues for ages.

Perhaps Green server would be better suited for this, where there are more newb players and less temptation to " borrow " stuff from higher level toons.
