Usually the only piece of the quest people sell is the Child's Tear MQ. That goes for around 100k if you also pay people to help you with the fight. The price does sometimes change, so it may be a bit under or over 100k. I think I saw one recently in the blue trading forum for 90k with fight included, but I might be wrong.
Some people do the first part of the quest involving https://wiki.project1999.com/Bondl_Felligan over and over again to max their faction instead of going through the quest normally. This would skip you directly to the Child's Tear portion of the quest, so you can buy the MQ. To do this efficiently you would need a druid to port you back and forth, so the cost of that would vary. A friend could do it for free, a stranger would probably charge an hourly rate of some kind. Never seen someone selling that specific service, so I don't have an estimate. Since it is an hourly rate it certainly shouldn't be more expensive than a druid power level service. I want to say that is around 1k an hour, but I never get PL services. That is just what my memory is telling me.

This is pretty much accurate. I think most plat-seeking druids out there would happily port / gate back and forth for 1k / hour.
The quick and dirty is....both you and the druid bind near / at the dude in freeport. Druid ports you to Butcher, you go pull Peg Leg to the druid ring, kill him, talk to spirit, get gem, gate, turn in. IIRC, if you're quick enough you can port back to the spirit and get a 2nd gem and do the process over again.
You just do that over and over til you hit max ally. Buy your child's tear MQ (typically comes with CoM fight these days if buying from Vanq or Riot for guild funds), go do final turn in.
Its like 6 hours total time invested for one of the best epics in the game. I'd argue its the best 100k you can spend on any class, especially if your shaman is well below 60.

The way I always did it was used my clr and rogue to faction people. Would have shaman bind at peg. Make a rezable corpse at turn in, then just duel corpse about 6 tiny gems. Then would have turn in 1 tiny gems, let the barb spawn the next spirit in the inn. Shammy binds in the inn, chain kill with rogue to corpse as many of whatever the next gem is. When spirit droops go turn in tiny to spawn lesser again..repeat. then go to erudins crossing, duel Rez to move gems to the island. Root and atone ogre, turn in many as can till max faction. Takes like 1.5 hours depending on zone times.

Yep that's how they use to sell it, all ya had to do was say what the heyokah or whatever the phrase is, get gem, die and get another (bind in room) , get like 40 gems, go-to ogre island and make a res able corpse and loot before res to move the gems to island, turn in and bam ally

Hey that's cool! Thanks for sharing. I did the Shaman Epic the intended way for the most part for fun. I never looked in to the most efficient way to raise True Spirit faction. 2 hours to max is pretty insane.

Ignoring the awful attempt at an insult. Thanks for the link though! That is cool to see an actual price tag, even though it has probably gone down since then. I started playing a little bit before Velious dropped, and my main was my SK for a while before I tried out playing a Shaman, so I wasn't watching for Shaman Epic prices before Velious.

yeah grind out 100k and whoever will kill Lord Rak'Ashiir for you.
Way back in the day, I bought one for my shaman from Azure Guard, it was funny when an officer said: "We usually don't do this, but our guild bank went broke"
Then they showed up in City of Mist with like 50 people, 7 warriors, 6 clerics - vast overkill
I was like "WTF, well i guess you get what you pay for"

Thanks a lot for the info it seems worth it for sure for 100k give or take. I'm a level 58 Shaman atm. I'm gonna try and save up to do this. Would love to have the weapon! Also I think I may have started the Epic quest so I'm not too sure if that resets and you have to start over etc. :-)

Just a bit of advise. If you don't have Torpor yet, and you don't have more than 100k, DON'T buy Epic yet. Get Torpor first, so you have it when you hit 60. Then you can farm way better and make that money back faster to buy your Epic. Epic is great, but it's not as good as Torpor, and you should always pick Torpor over Epic if you have to choose one.
As for the Epic quest, your "progress" is tracked by your True Spirit faction. That is why you can skip straight to the end with the faction grinding method mentioned earlier. Everquest is not a very sophisticated game compared to games of today. They don't have any code or database to actually track which quests you have or have not completed. So the server honestly doesn't know or care about what quests you have or haven't completed. They simply used your current True Spirit faction number as a guide, and hoped you weren't cheesing your faction and skipping sections lol.
Your faction with True Spirit does reset when you complete the quest, but other than that there is no way to lose progress on the Epic quest in the sense of which quests you have or haven't done. Obviously the only way to lose progress is if you screw up and accidentally turn in an item incorrectly, and thus lose the item.

Golems were 8 hours, in kunark you would sell it for 30k, paying 12k to make 30 was a good call if you were limited on time.

Yup. If you are MQing a Child's Tear, you need max True Spirit faction. Doing the quest normally just for that would be a waste of time. Many people who pick up a Child's Tear to MQ arent even Shamans hehe.

I have a job and family and play a few hours every couple days. I have a few epics. I don't kill anything at 3am. Hope this helps! Also you should probably seek help/employment asap.

On live I got up to needing the child's tear to finish my shaman's epic and I never did.
But I remember really enjoying the quest. Do people really skip the quest completely?

I personally did most of the Epic quest the normal way for fun. I did skip one of the City of Mist parts (forgot which one), but that's about it.
