My friend lost two young neighbors. She almost died.

I was so sick during this last spike I wound up in the ER and got a secondary ear infection believe it or not.

And I've been walking. Getting sunlight. Cleaning. Showering. Etc... doing the vitamin! I have not been that sick since 2001. Mortally ill. I was in the upswing before..like round IV of covid...

Virus is no joke. And I think my jacked up J&J shot and prior 1st wave exposure in 2018 helped.

I do think it will be easier going forward for everyone. Especially if they look after their health carefully and get quick care.

The thing is fighting people over masks and vaccines isn't going to be helpful. We need to change society and not by removing freedoms or punishing people on the edge already emotionally and economically. We need people to freely choose to be healthy and conscientious. There's no way to use force to do that. We can provide opportunities. Education. Even making people work for it a bit will give them a better sense of value for it.

Vaccines should be free. Testing should be free. Because they are not materially themselves that expensive. And we can collectively reward the science lab guys we can't do it without.

A simple example is if Apple starts to use a certain type of equipment in its products and you can manufacture that, is that going to sway your decision to manufacture it because you know there’s going to be a level of guaranteed demand there? Sure, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to and if you choose to you can choose the price etc. at which you sell it. That’s a free market and that’s essentially what’s happening here. The government is a purchaser that created a demand that the supplier can decide whether or not to meet and at what price.

Inherited wealth isn't always a blessing. This dude that lives across from me in the apt complex has a rich dad. This guy is 46 and looks like he could die tomorrow. He's fucked up on drugs, his body is fucked up from a drunk driving accident, he has fake teeth cause the ones he had rotted out. Dude weighs 125 at best. Guy literally looks like a walking skeleton. 46 looking like he's 66.

I wouldn't trade lives with him for anything, and his dad's a millionaire+ and he doesn't have to work. Meanwhile I slave away at UPS every day to build my future. My life is better than his.
