View Full Version : Alternative Camps
Got a static group going of 4, ranging from lvl 10-12. I know typically this would be a good time to go to Unrest or maybe Crushbone. But what are some of the more off the beaten path places we can go? We're all trying to visit those dungeons we never really did back in ye olden days. Places like Najena, Kerran Island, etc.
Any ideas?

Blackburrow is where its at until 20/21, then your 4 will want to head to Permafrost until 30 or so.

If you can get a piece of Erud's crossing, then Id suggest jumping at that opportunity. It's a strange zone that most people have never seen.

Don't skip out on runnyeye in the 18-30 range, super fun zone. You will need some decent cc

I legit want to suggest lavastorm. Folks here seem to hate it, but I discovered that zone on my own at level 12 in 99 and I really enjoyed the type of vibe I felt there, fighting in a volcanic rocky zone. There are some interesting named creatures that spawn occasionally too.. if you're exping out there, do it in the area in front of the collapsing doors.
And going in and out of najina for those levels I recommend too, it's a great zone. Good treasure for the level too.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Per-Level_Hunting_Guide is geared more towards smaller (solo/duo/trio) groups, but you can still find some good "off the beaten path" spots for a 4-person group there.

Several great options, for low lvl groups, or solo that are often overlooked.
Najena . Ent has one skeleton level 11- 12 right as you zone in, around the corner are two more, then past them is another, all solo, past that is a room, three skeletons, and a level 14 ogre guard. If you go straight, you`ll find a level 20 Tentacle Terror, If you take the left passage is another room with 4 skeletons n it , after that the mobs increase to 16 ish with the four elementals, and higher as you progress farther into the dungeon.
Gorge , starting mobs are 11 ish, with the low level goblins, the Mudmen range from 12 for the minor mudmen, and to 16 for the elders, also the gorge minos are around 15 to 16, with a chasm mino being 18 to 19 level, and then there are Evil eyes that are 20 + . Gorge has a 135 zem after the nerf to zem, it was 150. almost never anyone there and its good to 26 +
Perma is a great dungeon often not hunted except for farmers trying to get a mammoth cloak, or fur slippers, but it is great starting at 15 at entrance, to low 20s in flag room, to around 34, in most of the camps not counting the Giants.
Cazic Thule , the entrance is good for around 16 ish, the maze is a great spot for 18 to 25, then throne room to 32, also the gators down the well near entrance, that leads to the two pools, and gator ally, steel golem, first pool is good from 20 to 27, gator ally is good from 25 to 38 , same as the second pool, careful pulling from the pools, easy for a gator to warp and pull a train, if you tag and jump out of the pool.
The other spots have been mentioned, Runnyeye, Befallen, Lavastorm etc
Also there is the Greater lightstone quest in North Karna for good races, and in South Ro for evil races .

Najena is sweet till around 24. Definitely +1 there. Higher if you solo.

Oasis would be a great place for you guys - beware "A Orc" - Not sure if that's far enough off the beaten path, but it would certainly be your best option.
