First server merge on live would definitely be very post velious. It would have happened around the time WOW launched which is when there was about a thousand other MMO's and people were going to them.

I know that the zek servers merged sometime after LDON because I remember item loot being enabled but fungis of course were always augmented which disabled the item from being tradeable.

Why's it matter? Just start the new char and have fun not like it's getting deleted when they merge. I would expect a merge within the next 6-9 months but who knows
