Ive been playing p99 green for 2 years now and I really like it, love people and love the game. Sometimes its very hard for me, as Euro timer, to get all the fun.
For example i was really waiting for the Sleeper event, but that took place at 3am on Wednesday, so the quake after. And today again, quake at 5am on Easter day, woke up and all fun was over. Please GMs consider that Euro people play EQ too and we love this game.
Best regards

I agree.. best possible time for a quake to hit for both EU and NA players is 4 pm GMT+1 (10 pm est) plus I myself who attend quakes find myself staying up all night. I was at the sleepers event immediately after a quake..which meant no sleep before work if I wanted to play.

Problem is there's no single time that works for everybody, and if they always did it at a certain time (10pm for example) it removes a lot of the fun of the quakes which is their unpredictability.
That does suck for the sleeper thing though, since that can only happen once. Sorry about that :( I love my euro EQ buddies.

I’ve slept though more quakes than I care to remember. They DO occasionally happen on EU humanely playable hours.
I don’t have any numbers or evidence to prove a bias towards the US playerbase.

Oh and the Sleeper thing was just one guild being too chickenshit to wait for a decent date, after having hogged the warder loot for months on end.

Certainly I understand quake need to be unpredictable (both days and hours wise) and I know that was a guild debatable decision to wake up Sleeper in a weekday.
Rough quake data i collected i want to share, might not be correct 100% so if you have better they are welcome. My timezone (+6 US East). 1/4 of quakes were from 4pm to 11 pm. 1/4 from 11pm to 2 am. 1/2 (half) after 2 am, so deep night. None between 8am and 4 pm

Sorry mate but appalling gm support and appalling access to gm events for non US time zones is about as classic as it gets.

meh, the server downtime that simulated repops are supposed to mimic occurred during euro-friendly hours

I thought quakes were supposed to be random and change things up

Well, good time for Euros for reset/quake today I have to say.
Quake are not random looking at the distribution, dont know if they were, or supposed to, 20 years ago

In theory, considering that Quakes are supposed to simulate the "classic" server resets that occurred, resulting in full server respawns.
"Classic" times, this would happen at ~3am EST during the week off memory, when server populations were at their lowest...
Now, quakes happen around "prime" time, and typically on weekends because that results in a better play experience for the ESTers. Both at the time, and also on the 7 day respawns (respawns would happen the following weekend).
Aussie time zone here, I also miss out on a lot.

Well I think someone on the staff also had to press the button to initiate it. So if they’re random then I’m sure it’s more like random within the hours of the day that the staff are awake

Quakes should be either in lowest pop hours like 3am eastern like Darkplague mentioned, plus completely random for random downtime that would occur haphazardly not associated with patches.
They're not supposed to be convenient full world respawn events. The respawning was just a consequences of a reset.

You're only counting expected server downtime. In 1999 random server downtime was much more frequent

Go out boozing and feasting at the taverna, get home at 1:39 in the morning, boot your pc, load into eq in the perfect state for 8 hours of online bickering!

Because that describes virtually all of human history?

Hello EU friends,
We are a casual raiding guild with quite a few EU people. We try to schedule some of our raids to be EU friendly so that we can all get together. Obviously, this doesn't always work!
If you're interested and want some more information look us up!

Im sorry i dont mean to be rude, but I dont get the sense of your comment.
I am not saying that all quake must be primetime for Euro. As there are many quakes, they can be more spread around the day. What happens now instead is that we have 2/3 (or even 3/4) of quakes on Eu night (from midnight to 6am).
USA morning and afternoon is good for us too, im not even asking to quake at USA 4am (cant imagine the complaining if it happens just once). Even if it seems to be more classic to quake when players online are very few, as quake is intended to simulate classic serve resets.
And more: many euro left and leave because the majority of raid is during night, so quake at night dont help us to grow and be more than a minority.
Sincerely
PS im refering to ya.dingus comment

Targets are up on red a lot of the time. Leveling is quicker vs blue/green.
Come and get your pixels regardless of quakes and loot point rations.

Wow, I bet if more people knew that they would play on red.

What’s the point of gear when you only have 3 people to play with and two of them are legacy item BiS ToV geared lvl 60s hellbent on killing you using broken bow mechanics.
If Rogean wasn’t just trolling the red nerds them maybe we’ll see a new PvP server appear next year. Green cycle is done, maybe it will roll onto blue and we’ll see a new PvP server that one day will roll onto red. This makes sense, except for that PvP is broken.
Either way, ”go play red” is a pretty shoddy argument for quakes presumably being disproportionally favoring US timezone players. If anything server resets weren’t primetime US hours in original EQ.

Get back in your guild queue then, you'll get that mage epic eventually. How many hours of raiding ration points is that if you're not in a top guild?
More quakes won't fix much but helping ST and pals to kit out 4th/5th/6th alts.

Good thing the Mobs in NTOV stay up over night cuz none of the big guilds can kill them in one sitting any more. If there was really a euro pop able to kill these they would not sit up till noon US time the next day.
