spaceui:
This is a project I have been working on for a few months in my spare time. spaceui is an attempt to put together a user interface that works for playing EQ on a 4k TV. Like many high res display users in the p99 community I found my options for a useable interface to be limited. Some UI have elements I like but all of them have elements that don't scale correctly or agree with me for some reason or another.
What this is: spaceui is built off of qqui. QQUI is a great UI that just doesn't quite scale correctly for my eyes on 4k. Specifically, I added a larger 4k sized spell book from Ghrimlok4k UI, a very large high visibility buff bar, a custom vertical hot-button bar, Knight Rider themed bars for health from the leewong ui, spell casting gems from duxa and a logo section that should be easily modifiable to anything you like.
What this is not: This is not a completely custom UI from the ground up. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel. I am trying to hack together something that works better for me and maybe others. Nearly all the credit for the best looking parts of this UI go to Khanable (QQUI), Ghrimlok of Ghrimlok4k, Chrushev of DuxaUI, and whomever is in charge of the leewongUI.
UI Goals:
1. Utility at 4k
2. Minimalism that doesn't interfere with utility
3. Knight Rider
How do I change the logo?
Find an image you like, convert it to png in gimp, name it Space.png and place it directly into the spaceui_melee_v3 or spaceui_caster_v3 directory by replacing the old Space.png. Its a good idea to scale the image in gimp or photoshop to around 144px by 143px. If you are interested it is defined in the Animations.XML file and you should be able to tweak the size in markdown there.
What is next?
The next step is to re-implement the QQUI style spellbook in a much larger 4k compatible size and to play around with adding bags to the inventory screen like in rustleUI.
Anything you don't like?
Let me know! I am experimenting here trying to make a UI that is practical for swapping weapons or other common tasks as well as one that looks sleek and interesting in 4k. Is something still too small? Mention something to me and I might be able to fix it.
