teams pvp would be so dank. i know it wouldnt last but damn...

what annoyed me about red is that even sirken KNOWS teams is the best pvp choice for this game. he's from vallon zek. yes, teams will have problems of its own (xteaming) but players have ways to combat that. the unfettered chaos of rallos ruleset gets to a point where its 100% inaccessible to new players. this isn't the case on teams. on teams, we have incentive to shepherd new players

After extensive research I can confirm that TEAMS is significantly LAMER than Rallos Zek rules.

However, since the server will be for a limited timeline, the Nilbog Custom teams ruleset with item loot enabled is our best option. Possibly with firiona vie modified droppability stuff.

Sorry to P99 staff about the secondary database required for the different droppable status on the new red server but it will be worth the trouble.

Also I vaguely recall there being a clause in the P99/Daybreak agreement that they wouldn't release new patches/content/servers around the same time as Daybreak TLP launches. Being that there's a new round of TLP's this month I'd guess nothing is happening in the immediate future. If I was a betting man I'd put money on no new P99 server this year. Even next year is iffy.

New red server incoming. You will only be able to PvP if your opponent has clicked a consenting box to engage in battle, and the flat will drop on zoning or death. Guild v. Guild PvP will be initiated by /guildwar and last until either guild concedes the warring status.

Otherwise no open world PvP.

Your sig is terrible because all of those have nothing whatsoever to do with what classic. Controlling how players play the game is not classic negates the entire thing.

Anyways, yes, you are right, and I'll keep saying it over and over and people will keep staying oblivious, but, the staff cannot do anything hands-on ever again because of what Sirken did. Ever. It's over.

So yeah, insights about this even "We're still discussing stuff!" the staff can share with us. I legitimately look at this forum every day to see whats up with a new server. It's not a big time sink but it would be nice to have some more info to go on.

I legit don't think ANYTHING is happening for a year+. But yet I've held off on rolling on green cause knowing my luck I'd get to lvl 40 and they'd announce the merge + new server surprise launch in a month. Kinda stuck in a wait and see game right now. Super frustrating :(

1.) play green/blue relaxed and socialize. forget about epics and highendloot. get bored at some point, log off, delete game.
2.) play on solo servers, like Imperium, kill quarm after around 1-2 weeks solo, log off, delete game.

last week i reinstalled and restarted on green.

(and no, red is not an option, not anymore with 15 players on it)

Look into Vaniki. They're attempting to compensate for that and make it harder (or so it seems?) by lvl capping everyone at -10 levels under the current expansion. They made some custom tweaks to allow spells to land and shit. Remains to be seen how it'll work out obviously.

TAKP is a non-starter for me almost solely due to the lack of scroll zoom on the client. I tried to play it once and I just fucking refuse to deal with that. I honestly have no idea how anyone could legitimately recommend Red at this point in time. Even outside of how bad EQ PvP is like... It could be the best thing on planet earth and I still would have a hard time recommending ppl play a 10 person server. Especially one where the entire premise is PvP.

I did TLP a few times. Definitely a lot of nice creature comforts, and I enjoyed it, but it just feels like I have to rush to do everything since I'm so casual, I can't keep up, even at 3 months. Not to mention the servers feel more like Chrono grinds than anything else, but yes to me LDoN was that last quality content, then everything after just felt like the same stuff 5 levels higher.

Teams servers actually tend to do pretty well. Before p99, we had VZTZ. The problem is every emu since has just done full red for reasons that bewilder me. Teams was the most popular ruleset on both live and emus and easy to see why. On full red it becomes completely inaccessible to new players. On teams there is incentive to shepherd in new players.

But yeah no client zoom is just dumb. I'm about as #classic as it gets and that's far too obtuse for me.

Because they are. The absolute dregs of society load up on drugs and pre-pay the trailer rent for a few months in anticipation of dedicating their lives to farming Krono on these servers. And that's not hyperbole to be insulting...A lot of times they stream and openly discuss it. It's crazy to imagine the type of people who would dedicate their lives to profiting from RMT in a 20+ year old game and then have that confirmed in front of your very eyes live.

Anyway as a player who just likes to play, occupying the same space with these people gets old fast. Even among everybody else, the constant topic is the price of Krono that day because it indexes the value of everything else and it's just a constant distraction and preoccupation with every one from actual EQ.

I'd love to do PoP though about OoW or DoN again but never make it that far.

Yeah I really hope that RMT is continued to be stamped out of P99 but I have my doubts and am eagerly awaiting a new hilarious ban wave.

The way people are behaving only points towards RMT as an explanation.
