Pretty much a noob at this point. Haven't played EQ since early 2000s. Just started back up on green, dark elf enchanter.

Any suggestions on what to collect at a low lvl (main) to make a few Plat? So far I've got a backpack full of bone chips. These can be sold correct? Seeing that necros need them for pets. What price can I expect to charge for a back pack full? Any other items I should saving ? Fire beetle eyes? Thanks in advanced!

1) stein of moggok
2) can collect HQ bear pelts (sell for 20pp each). You could even invest in tailoring. It's fairly cheap to level it to around 70, at which point you can make the tailored backpacks which sell for 50pp.
3) can kill alligators in innothule around lvl 10. if you get the skins (rare) they sell for around 150-200pp.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Treasure_Hunting_Guide has the answer to most of your questions (although it doesn't have price info for bone chips ... if someone wants to tell me the going price I'd be happy to add it to the wiki).

However, I'll also add that in general in EQ (and especially for casters) it's better to go for experience first rather than plat first. You can earn plat much faster at higher levels, but having plat doesn't really make you level faster (unless you have twink levels of plat that is).

Bone chips is a good option. I don't know what they usually go for on green atm, but 10p/stack was the price for years on blue.

You can farm them really fast in North Ro, near the Freeport zoneline. Tons of decaying skels wandering there and rarely anyone else around to kill them.
