Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

The P99 Green Event Committee is organizing the very FIRST Norrath Fashion Show!

Denizens of Norrath, the time has come to establish once and for all : Who is the fairest of them all? On Sunday, October 2nd at 1PM EST, the P99 Green community will gather in the Lake Rathe Arena to admire and cheer on contestants who will strut their stuff on the catwalk. The event will also be streamed by our famous commentator Level Up Larry! https://www.twitch.tv/leveluplarry

Event : Six judges, renowned for their exquisite taste and connaissances in the latest Norrath Fashion will evaluate contestants’ Poise, Flare, Function, Creativity and Timing in 5 different categories comprised of : Colorful, *Dopplegangers* (look-alikes), Sexy, Stylish and « Other ».

Rules: Only one entry per character. A person can enter different characters in different categories. The contestant has to make sure they have enough time to switch characters before the next category contestants step onto the runway. The runway order will be shared with all contestants a few days before the event.


Prizes

For each category: 1st place wins 15000 pp, 2nd place wins 5000pp and 3rd place wins 1000pp. Item prizes will be /randomed for amongst spectators.

To register your characters, go to: https://forms.gle/bJAeqSGNL9EFrT3H8. Registration is now open and will be available through October 1st at 11:59 pm EST. Competitors must be checked-in with event coordinator in Lake Rathe arena by 12:45pm on the day of the event.

Spectators

The Arena is off limits to unauthorized PvP 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the event. This is to ensure that the contestants and spectators are safe. Spectators shall not interfere with this event. Event Staff and CSR are considered judges and therefore restricted from being attacked. Anyone found attacking a GM or Guide may be banished from the Arena without warning. Severe penalties are used only when directly attacking a player, a judge or CSR during the show.

Spectators shall remain seated and not casting during the show. Any spell casting shall be considered aimed at a participant, and disruptive to the show. AoE Spells have the potential of killing off some of the younger spectators. If you are killed by one of these spells, please wait for a GM or Guide to give you a summons into the Arena. Anyone who casts any spells (including Bard songs) during the show can be removed from the Arena. If you need to click your mask of deception so that you look your very best during the show, do so far away from the stage/catwalk area.

Spectators shall not use /shout for any reason, but use /ooc instead. This is so that those involved in the match can use /shout, and the /ooc channel can be turned off to reduce distraction to the contestants involved. Use of /shout at anytime can lead to banishment from the Arena.

Event Staff may limit the amount of people in the zone to control conditions of lag or frame rate for the participants. The event shall start open seating, but may close off at any time. The Event Staff may use any sort of decision on who stays and who leaves to ensure the event is a success. This should not need to be implemented until a minimum of 150 players in the zone has been reached.

For this reason, the P99 Green Event Committee came up with two additional categories: Full Body Screenshots and Inventory Screenshots. These can be submitted by replying to this post - the screenshots will then be judged by the community and 1st (5000 pp prize) 2nd (2500 pp prize) and 3rd (1000 pp prize) place winners in each category will be announced during the Fashion Show.

I received a very good question today: "Should item names be visible for the Inventory Fashion Screenshot Contest?"

The criteria being looked at for this contest are:
- items that look like obvious famous item icon but in a not expected slot
- uniqueness of icon

Screenshots of your inventory (what you are wearing) OR of your open bags OR both can be submitted as entries. Open bag screenshots should be visually pleasing or unique in display. This is less about what the items are and more about how they have been aesthetically arranged.

I leave you with a quote from our Inventory Fashion Expert: "Sometimes you must choose which items to wear not based on the stats but rather the inspect fashion they provide. Some icons are simply more desired than others and everyone has favorites." -Eratani

Contestants are allowed to cast spells/click masks during their strut on the catwalk - refrain from casting any spell while it's another contestant's turn. You can move away from the stage to click a mask if you need to.

I never intended to make Virasan a BIS raid character. Instead, I consistently made gear choices that put form over function. I proudly wear my Queen's Carapace instead of my Chestplate of Vindication. I sport my Spirit Wracked Cord on my shoulder instead of my Strength of Elements so I can wear a matching Bracer of the Myrmidon over a Bracer of Benevolence. I chose to spend my DKP on a Crown of the Kromzek Kings so I could get the custom Velious helm graphic instead of the 1/3 DKP priced and actual warrior BIS Helmet of Rallos Zek. I blew a massive wad of DKP on a joint raid to purchase a Gaudralek, Sword of the Sky over a monk bidding on Left Eye of Vyemm. I even spent tons of time and money collecting all the 10-slot giant 100% weight reduction bags. I regret none of these decisions. Gaudralek was the final piece of visible gear I planned on for Virasan. It has been an absolute blast leveling, raiding, and making this character. Thanks <Safe Space> for making it happen!

The lineup for the Fashion Show is now complete! The categories are in order: Colorful, Doppleganger, Sexy, Style, Other.

As a reminder:
1. Please arrive before 12h45pm EST and check-in with Aenia in game.
2. You are allowed to click your masks away from the stage and to click any item and cast any spell during your walk across the catwalk
3. Each contestant will turn WALK on and start at the "throne" end of the arena stage and walk all the way to the other end, then walk back and exit where they entered. The next contestant will not step on until the other contestant has stepped off. There will be items randomed by the crowd between each category to allow contestants time to switch toons or change outfits.
4. Judges and event organizers will use /shout, everyone else needs to use /ooc
5. Winners in each category may receive a temporary title to take some screenshots - cash prizes will be distributed after the show in the EC tunnel by the toon Fashionshow. Can coordinate with Naexus | Aenia <Good Guys> # 2850 on discord if you can't stop by the tunnel after the show.
