Perma Camping mob that has key quest item

Rarely do I get upset with the community, or the ruleset that's been established for this game - and generally everyone is pretty reasonable, but just ran into a one of the biggest douchebags I've ever encountered on both Blue and Green in the past 9 years I've played.

Ssips - Green server necro. Perma camping Xalgoz for the staff of dreaded gaze - which ok it's a hard drop rate, so I get it. Even further to this, getting one to drop and having a "friend" log-in next to you so you can pass it off to them and keep going with the camp - whatever. It's your time, your prerogative. I come down into Kaesora tonight to try and see if I can get the fang so I can finally get into HS, as I keep getting invited but no key. I show up, and Xalgoz was recently killed - there's two necros here in his room. One is AFK other is semi-actively killing adds in the room. Semi-active nice guy, says feel free to snag a fang if it drops while he's here - tells me the spawn time of mob, and we chat for a bit about how Ssips has been owning this camp forever. Fast forward, mob pops and Ssips takes it (apparently it's his camp even though he's been afk since I arrived). I ask him in tell if I can snag a fang when he kills, and the response is 1k.

What? 1K for an item that is about to rot? I tell him no, I'm not going to pay that. "Whatcha got then" - well I'm asking if I can have one because they rot.... 'Okay I'll give you a discount, 250p". Then, without letting any time go - he runs up to me sits in front of me, and starts emojing 'Ssips coughs at Xalgoz', 'Ssips extends his palm awaiting payment', 'Ssips coughs at you'... then boom 'Times up' runs over loots the fang before corpse opens and destroys it.

Who the fuck is this person, and why is he rotten? How is it this is acceptable behavior on this server? I mean... surely there has to be some ruleset against this ? How can players circumvent asshats who ruin the game for rest of community?

I'd be interested to see if you could quote a piece of the PNP that says you have to vacate the camp once you got a drop and can't sell loot rights. That has never been a rule (there have been /list camps for certain high value items on Green, but it's never been a PNP rule to my knowledge).

Pretty sure the AC line is a PLAYER made agreement. There's nothing in the PNP that says you have to give up the AC camp the second you get a ring drop.

There are a hundred camps in this game that people monopolize and don't leave once they've had a drop. That's why corpsing items has been a thing, for example.

At multiple points he is fighting sepulcher skels and they don't flee even when unrooted/unsnared. For example, he uses one to burn down a mob and the sepulcher skel is below 20% HP. He breaks charm and the skel runs right at him and starts killing him. It doesn't flee. He has to root it in order to finish it off.

Guess we solved that one pretty easily lol

I got them to flee in the basement right below the entrance near the portal. There was a group at the entrance clearing the 2 entrance + 8 golems + 1 roamer (and also some of the north wing before the painting)

I was in basement clearing the 2 wing roamers, 2 roamers around portal and 1 center roamer, as well as clearing the east/west basement foyers.

AFTER all of these mobs were dead, the skeletons started to flee. the skeletons dont flee often - its not because they are immune to flee --- its because their "rally" social range is HUGE. they will stay and fight if a mob of the same faction / type is within xx units. most mobs its very short, like 50 units. skeletons are HUGE.

so fucks sake, shut up. i stopped bringing it up except to joke about it. YOU are the asshat that keeps following ME around the forums and posting "drrrr hrrrr show proof hrrrrrr" on every thing i post.

and now im rehashing the same fuckin conversation that i had with other people on my forum post about this.

I feel like a simple fix to the PNP would basically say that if someone shows up and wants the camp that you're camping, you have to pass it off to them, and can't just invite your guild mate who wasn't even in the zone or online at the time and pass it off to them instead. It might be hard to enforce at first, but I think after a while, it would become the established norm and you wouldn't see as many people trying to do these nasty shenanigans.

At least on TLP when people are toxic like this you can just KS them. And on TLP, KSing isn't a huge problem. I felt like players were more willing to engage in diplomacy be cause they didn't want to risk getting trained or KS'd and it felt more like the EQ I remembered.

PnP was created to alleviate CSR workload so that players could settle disputes themselves. in the hopes that players would compromise.

Rarely do I get upset with the community, or the ruleset that's been established for this game - and generally everyone is pretty reasonable, but just ran into a one of the biggest douchebags I've ever encountered on both Blue and Green in the past 9 years I've played.

Ssips - Green server necro. Perma camping Xalgoz for the staff of dreaded gaze - which ok it's a hard drop rate, so I get it. Even further to this, getting one to drop and having a "friend" log-in next to you so you can pass it off to them and keep going with the camp - whatever. It's your time, your prerogative. I come down into Kaesora tonight to try and see if I can get the fang so I can finally get into HS, as I keep getting invited but no key. I show up, and Xalgoz was recently killed - there's two necros here in his room. One is AFK other is semi-actively killing adds in the room. Semi-active nice guy, says feel free to snag a fang if it drops while he's here - tells me the spawn time of mob, and we chat for a bit about how Ssips has been owning this camp forever. Fast forward, mob pops and Ssips takes it (apparently it's his camp even though he's been afk since I arrived). I ask him in tell if I can snag a fang when he kills, and the response is 1k.

What? 1K for an item that is about to rot? I tell him no, I'm not going to pay that. "Whatcha got then" - well I'm asking if I can have one because they rot.... 'Okay I'll give you a discount, 250p". Then, without letting any time go - he runs up to me sits in front of me, and starts emojing 'Ssips coughs at Xalgoz', 'Ssips extends his palm awaiting payment', 'Ssips coughs at you'... then boom 'Times up' runs over loots the fang before corpse opens and destroys it.

Who the fuck is this person, and why is he rotten? How is it this is acceptable behavior on this server? I mean... surely there has to be some ruleset against this ? How can players circumvent asshats who ruin the game for rest of community?


Screw this guy, I remembered this A HOLE in lowerguk. We were fighting our way to Ass/up with our lowbie group. We were at bottom of the stair and this clown walked passed us with his spec pet and climbed up the ladder and claimed the camp LMAO.


Fast forward many levels later, saw this clown in Chardok kept dying and training people w/ no regards, I'm surprised he still had not been banned yet, maybe people just too lazy to report his ass. I think its long overdue.;)

This is actually correct, and was stated by GM Derubael:

If you are solo camping, once you attain the item you were waiting for (an AC ring, for example) you are done camping that mob. The person coming to take the camp had better be prepared at this point in order to come eliminate the very next placeholder spawn in order to "stake his claim" on the mob. You cannot work wacky corpse lines on lore items in order to grab multiple items in the same "camp session" if there are others waiting to take the camp. Please be aware that we reserve the right to apply this same ruling to any camp if we deem it necessary, including camps with multiple players.

What's interesting to me is the staff has never clarified this rule for mobs that drop two things. So you could certainly make an argument that once Chuckles gets a key, he has to let you get the next one.

If I were the OP I'd petition Chuckles after the second spawn and see what the GM says, just out of curiosity. But even if they say no, OP could still wait until a staff spawns, and by server rules Chuckles would definitely have to give up the camp then.
