Hello, I'm new to the game. 2 Weeks ago I decided to make a High Elf Paladin on green server and now I've got it to Level 41 (bub away from 42). Just wondering how I should approach soloing as an untwinked Paladin. I'm not averse to grouping but I just want some more information on where to solo when the time comes. So far I've had success in Lguk dead side and now I'm trying out Sol A gnomes. As for gear, I'll go into detail when asked but I'm using an Argent Defender (I also have 2 PDWRs) that I traded for BABS, which I'm regretting now slightly. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

I soloed my pally to 40 in hag tower and then off to gnome clockworks in Sol A; the exp slows but they can get you to 45. I believe I was using an Iceflame at that time.
After that maybe Sol B greater kobolds. Or if you dont mind messing up faction you could hit Highkeep. Guards will be green to blue and very solid money. If you dont kill Mistress Anna, bards, or Isabella Cellus it wont mess with your epic faction. Not that it isnt repairable but it's prob best to just avoid them anyways.

Yeah, I think I was 37 by day 11. But understand that in lowbie zones like unrest there are high levels Powerleveling and rezzing all the time so I could get like 5 levels in a session sometimes. Things have slowed down a lot now. Trying to gear my character up, and scout for new zones to farm exp. Maybe CoM is an option?

It might be a Cleric solo guide, but who says a Paladin can't benefit from it?

I'd say you're about ready for Spectres. Awesome camps. Although it seems like they no longer drop the 12p Scythes?
I recently killed some and they were dropping Rusty Scythes...they must have nerfed the drops.

In Feerrott over the past month or two, it's been a mixture of Scythe, Bronze Scythe, Rusty Scythe.

I could be imagining things of course. I just thought for some reason they always dropped the 'Scythe'.
But I'm glad they still drop them.

Woah man, those specters were tougher than they sounded. That was a really ugly fight for me.

Can't beat a level 37 spec.
ye be fighting giants my man, see:

they hit harder, as an untwinked melee you'd probably be better off fighting something else.

Fight HHK guards and build up fat stacks of plat.
Buy Deepwater helmet, reaver, best haste you can afford and save up for a deepwater BP
Thats the path to success for paladin soloing. I solo'd mine to 59, and just have a bit more to finish up. PM if u want specifics

does the fact that Reaver isn't a magic weapon ever become an issue or just need to pick the right targets? or do so few mobs count as "magic" that it doesn't really matter?

I soloed my SK mainly using a reaver and after 40 I haven’t used it that much. Especially if you are planning on going to CoM, KC or WL basically everything there is immune. It’s good in the hole though and if fighting guards.

What server you on OP?
I have a Deepwater helmet rotting in an alt bank.
It's yours if we play on the same server.

My god, that’s a lot of replies. Didn’t see page 2. Anyways an update; farmed Ferrot specs (on p99 green), and even killed some 37s on my own but it was very ugly - one time I even needed to use LoH because I slightly miss played. After that I decided to farm plat for more gear in lguk, once I was finished with that it was off to buy some gear, and luckily for me a player tipped me off at ec tunnel that deepwater helm was in rivervale. Right now my big items are deepwater helm, crustacean chest 25 ac, and throneblade 2H sword. Off the top of my head my stats are; 125 str, 95 sta, 84 dex, 117 wis, 98 agi, 864 ac with 39 pally buffs, 1580 Hp buffed, 1700 something with symbol. I’m one bub from 45 so far, and I’m working on getting soulfire, already killed the 2 big mobs, just have to invis into Freeport to finish quest because I’m kos. IGN is Elwo, I’m on green server.

If you have a couple hundred plat you would be well served upgrading to a baton of faith. For the cost it is very hard to beat, should help a lot

Worst advice ever. Ya have him jump down and have to crawl half a zone to get back out... Also has mixed undead and live mobs, where some live mobs also see invisible. Not to mention mobs are clerics, rangers, sks and the list goes on.

LMAO. I actually went o kaesora by myself. Thank god my friend Nimdor was online to bail me out of that death trap. I had no idea what he was signing me up for, to think that I almost went down into the spiders. XD

I’d personally stick to guards. Less hps and fine steel too vendor. No casters either.
The undead solo adventure for a paladin is a romantic concept but with exception for Dawncall ToV weapons and the Yeli sword there aren’t any others. Outside of Lower Guk not a lot of places to exp in that are 99-100% undead so your mobility really comes down to lull.
I’d keep it easy. 2-4k hp npcs in or around towns.

Pretty much this. Try oggok guards, although untwinked and melee you might need a few more levels. But you can ride them to 48 and at that point move back to safe hall in Lguk and use Deepwater helm to heal.

Wanted to try this but the 2 guards in front are red to me. I'm level 45.

Inside oggok, not the entrance guards in feerrott. If you don't have invisible, but you have sow. Just hit them with a spell, run a circle and zone in.
Also at 45 they will be no problem. Just save all your mana for roots if it gets too tight in some fights, just root and step back and Deepwater helm up.

On my way to buy an invis potion. And I got a Light Velium Claidhmore which I think is better than BoF (baton of faith). Thanks for the tips, hopefully, my gear is good enough. Just finished soulfire quest so I should be pretty safe.

Would you recommend deepwater BP over Fungi? I've been kicking around rolling a Paladin with a manstone
Hey, its nice to have both because you can fight with the fungi on and heal OOC with the BP. The BP is like 307 hp every 10 seconds, so essentially 1800 hp a minute, vs a fungi's 150 hp a minute. Out of combat or healing while rooted, the DW BP just keeps you in the fight so well. Soloing lower guk thru all the camps all the way up to and including ghoul lord was hella fun with my epic pally.

Both.
And honestly, Crown of Narandi is usually enough...but manastone would be pretty bonkers.
Reaver, spiked horsey belt, fungi, narandi crown, deepwater BP, hiero cloak, and some cha items (see my paladood in sig)
Lots and lots of 10 dose kilva's. They are insanely strong for solo paladin.
Human max cha at creation, can crawl your way through all the high ZEM areas.
1-22 Warrens, 22-28/30 Perma, 30-44 Cazic Thule.

One thing to think about with guard killing is to make a level 1 of that race and learn the town. Know the pathers and where the GM’s are relative to the guards and vendors. Often a shaman GM will look like a vendor and while you can con them sometimes you forget…and they will drop you quick.
If you want to be extra safe pull guards back to the zone and fight there. I’d you see anything not wearing a helmet like a bouncer or bouncer just zone immediately.
Also that same level one I mentioned can be used to drop swords too. Fill up backpacks and eventually sell to buy like rubies (and cloudy potions). Drop those back to the paladin. It’s a PITA but could be thousands of plat over the grind. Good luck!

This is what I did on my necro. Clear zone and loot up. Drop transfer to a level 1, merchant everything, buy ruby/dots and drop back. All that FS adds up quick

I meant to type “bouncer and basher”.
In Grobb I just would do like 16 longswords at a time from the EE and Burlap bag. 176pp or so is worth a quick camp. Its rez bribe plat too.
This topic appears to be a legendary paladin of untold proportions asking a bunch of lesser adventures for advice. Maybe we can ask you for advice? :P

A question. does the BP not require a reagent to cast?

01-18-2023, 09:50 AM
It uses a Jasper for each click, but it’s only 7gp
Snaggles
01-18-2023, 06:41 PM
Yea it’s 30hp/second with a BP click or about 11-12.5 for a helm click depending on level for free. Fungi is 2.5hp/sec so wearing that with the helm is about half the recovery speed.
At 60 I like the BP because you’re more likely to have potg so the helm won’t stack. It’s a useful buff for non tank raiders who normally wouldn’t have an extra 300’ish HP’s. As a root/click it’s objectively better.
For reference torp is 50hps/sec. The VP Druid robe is like 25.
