Just finished reading George R. R. Martin's A Clash of Kings, i felt like it was slow moving for a majority of the book. Things didn't start happening until about the last 250 pages or so, but the ending was even crazier than the first book. I just wanted to get some opinions on what others thought of this read.

I just finished Game of Thrones a few weeks ago, loved it. I start reading Clash of Kings and lost interest... Guess I'm gonna have to start it up again :)

Book 3 is the best by far.

I brought book 3 into work with me, 60 pages in right now, and I can agree it's much more entertaining.

Clash of Kings is just reaaaaally slow, and tries really hard to keep the pace as the beginning of the story line. I tortured myself to read all of it, and only regained interest again towards the end.

Just wait until a Feast for Crows. It's fucking terrible. It might be best just to skip it. Seriously... it blows.

What? Brienne is fucking amazing (until she goes looking for who shall not be named). Her POV with Jaime is fantastic.

There is no spoiling going on in this thread, dumb shit. With your obsession of wikipedia, I am surprised you didn't already know this. Nobody is giving away any details of the story line itself.

No, it doesn't. It is the weakest of the series, though. But Martin's bad is better than most people's best. If you want to read shitty fiction, pick up the Malazan series, or The Black Company. They're fan fiction quality.
