Blue vs Green, which community is better?

Just curious what some of your opinions are on between the 2 servers communities, especially some of you veteran players who have played both.


Is one community more friendly compared to the other, one more toxic, one more helpful to new players, one more try hard etc.?

What do you guys think?

I played a blue a long time ago, so this could be a product of the timeline in which I played p99 vs the actual server. However, I have observed that people on Green are much more focused on soloing vs grouping, and are more selective with who they group with and what zones they group in. There is also rampant power-leveling which is pretty annoying frankly.

Other than that the community seems about the same in terms of how cordial they are, most people are pretty friendly.

This is nonsense. A huge chunk of the players on green moved there after playing first on blue. I play on both servers, and I don't notice much of an experience difference at all. You might have been able to make this claim early on in green's lifespan since it attracted a lot of people that hadn't played in 20 years. Now though? Nah.

Competitiveness part is correct though.

Yeah it's pretty useless to compare servers in terms of vague attributes like "toxicity" once their populations are greater than like fifty people. You will run into lots of great people and lots of huge assholes on either server, depending on the situation and context. It's just the nature of EQ and mmo's in general.

Given it several attempts. There is an overwhelming amount of poor human beings there. Blue far more chill, more open to PUG’s, more relaxed camps etc. All the try hards are overwhelmingly on green.

I have never seen ANY toxicity on Green server in the couple of months I have been playing it (never played blue).
Hell, I started a ranger and before I was level 14, I was decked out with awesome gear from random strangers passing me by.

Any time I have needed help with something, someone would be willing to help me out. I'm not a popular player... im just a random nobody.

So if anyone is seeing toxicity on the Green server then maybe you should look at yourself first. Just sayin'.

And again, that is my experience so far.

Both servers have toxicity and its concentrated around loot and money. The places you can find assholes are high value item/cash camps, the raid scene (about nodrop loot and contested targets not cash farming), and to a degree in the tunnel.

For me I didn’t bother with green because it’s the same as blue but with a weird race to the finish start with known time lock rewards and stuff. A gross experience.

There are legions of blue characters camped at raid mobs, there's no competition anymore, and the server has suffered from a decade + of outdated rules (lol chardok aoe), account purchasing before it was banned, RMT abuse, etc.

Blue is the most scandalous, pox ridden, degenerate community you will find as part of the project.

Huge mistake merging with them if it ever did happen, but the devs are known not to give a eff.

Who knows, maybe they'll do it anyway because they could be getting tired of maintaining the project. Maybe they want want to sunset it.

What's more telling is the same 5 desperate blue players brigading the green forums telling people they should play on blue.

You can get a batphone for blue, join the discord voice chat, accidently log in to the wrong server (green), still end up killing the right mob and only end up realising when it dies cos the people in chat are talking about different loot drop to what is linked in guild chat.

That is how similar they are.
