You enter both through Velious zones.

They are part of the Velious expansion.

Plane of Growth is accessed through Wakening Lands (between Skyshrine and Kael).

Plane of Mischief is (originally) accessed through North Temple of Veeshan. (Much later the zone in was moved to Eastern Wastes/Great Divide one or the other).

It was moved to Great Divide, and I seriously doubt it will be anywhere but in NtoV as that's the only place it was located during velious.

naw, regardless of whos on top when Velious drops NToV is doable. It'll take more than a zerg to drop Aaryonar, Vyemm, Vulak etc, but it's not hard.

Mischief is a group zone pretty much.

You'd normally want to spend time kill Velious Giants such as the ones in Kael which would raise your faction with the dragons. This would allow you easier access into NToV without aggroing some mobs you won't need to fight. (ie the drakes and some wurms)

It's not a super long run to get to the portal if you zone in with SoW & aren't KoS to the other dragon residents (allowing you to start your sprint at the door to NToV)

Bard speed clicky song of travel and sneak made it very easy as a monk. Always had a da idol spare tho.

As a cleric I'll definitely give it a shot, I imagine the pathing will easily allow a DA cast on p1999.

That's disappointing. It was one of my favorite zones to go waste time in... It'll be a lot more difficult for me to get there and then once I do, I can't kill a whole lot of anything since I'm a cleric this time around.

It was a pretty empty zone if I remember, even after the castle porty thing was moved. I'm really sad, it'll take a raid to get a group there it sounds like..

I believe VP, relatively speaking to gear available prior to it, is probably the toughest zone ever released with it's intended difficulty.

Also with a SoW and knowing where you are going and what to avoid it's not too tough to run to Mischief. I know I did it way before it was moved to GD.

Try and get the bard's selo's accelerating chorus(lvl 49 bard song) for the run. Also doing the run without Aaryonar and Dagarn the Destoyer up is recommended.

PoM was a huge f'd up mess on live and nobody ever fully understood it.

Hard to recreate something that nobody understands.

I would imagine Mischief as SOE's version of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" I had very little experience with the zone on live, but everything I've seen and heard about the zone was that it was awesome, but in an out-of-the-box way that did not fit the mold used for the rest of the game.

PoM was on the fringe, weird, and potentially lethal if you misstep. It's like the illegal drugs of zones.

Uh it was pretty easy to figure out. Bind in treasure chest room, farm shit, get cards to drop, learn way out of maze if you screwed up/pvp -> profit.

It doesn't suck. I completed a full or almost full set of the stuff back in velious and there probably are only a few dozen people that spent more time in the zone than me (Irontail and the other PoM.com crew, etc).

I actually got to talk to smedley at the dallas fan faire in 2001 or 2002 about PoM. At first he tried to coyly play it off like "you having figured out the mysteries!" but I finally got another dev to admit that the guy who did PoM was either fired or quit before he finished it and smedley hated the zone or something and wouldn't let anyone else work on it with that guys plans, just finish up what was almost done and move on to Luclin. It's not that no one understood it, the problem is it never got finished.

The original design of the zone was to be the 5th choice of velious armor (beyond kael, skyshrine, thurgadin and PoG). Bristlebane was suppossed to be a triggered ring event that never got tuned or fully completed, so they never itemized the event, they just left the script in "as is" and let you kill bristlebane for fun (a matter of opinion as he has an insane amount of HP and is a bitch to fight).

It makes me super sad that there's no rogue PoM armor since bristlebane was the king of thieves, but i can't wait to help folks get their armor in there this go around.

I never really got to fully experience PoM as a Paladin back on Povar, but I always was in awe of Irontaail and Triton up there. Monk+Druid duo'd his ass on Povar I do believe. I can't wait to Locket of Escape bind there, lol.


Also one of my fondest EQ memories...

I was over at a friends house who was a halfling druid and thus non-kos in PoG. He found Tunare's tree and wanted to explore a little. So he approached some goat looking dude at the bottom of Tunare's tree and hailed him. He gave some shpiel and asked something to the effect of, "why are you here?" My buddy typed out, "i've come for your phat lewtz."

Next thing you know, BAM 25k DT! "You will find no phat lewtz here Newmer!"
