In a previous announcement (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420227), we mentioned there were complications with the SMS system. This morning, we were able to test the updates made by Rogean and are happy to announce the password reset issues have been fixed.

Did you check your spam section of your text messages? Sometimes because the number it is originating from is an unknown number to your phone, it will send it there.

By the amount of posts about this issue, it looks like it was fixed (cause it worked for me ) but it is broken again. :(

Yeah, i am not receiving any texts after selecting the sms option to create a loginserver account. I have checked my blocked/spam texts as well

Yes, it's definitely broke.

I never received the SMS. I was hoping by at least 48 hours, the SMS would have timed out and I could at least skip the SMS verification and it is still saying I have a waiting SMS.

So, the entire process is currently borked until someone can take a look at it. Which sucks...

I'm a new player who hasn't played since the good old days. I tried setting up the SMS just in case I do forget my password and I have yet to get an email verification. How long does this usually take or is it bugged?

Can you not just get rid of the SMS system and let passwords be reset like every other website and game out there ?

There's no ability to change your phone number so I imagine there are hundreds of people locked out of accounts because they can't reset their forgotten passwords

I was just looking to get back into my account after a year of not playing. Thought I had my password written down somewhere, but apparently not. Tried to reset it, and have been waiting 30 mins for the sms. So I'll add myself to the others who are essentially screwed at this point.

I just tried to start back over using EQEMU with a brand new character and couldn't bare to continue. Killed one bat just camped. Guess I'm done with EQ for good, or until the SMS resets are finally working :(

Adding a phone number to the SMS messages is not working for me. Never have added a number and it just states its invalid number...
i.e +1(first field) 123 456 7890 (second field) does nothing to add spaces or dashes or any other sane way to enter my number does nothing.

Same issue here... I set up a forum account and a LoginServer account. I attempted to add SMS verification, but never got a text message. The game client says my password is invalid, and when I attempt to change my password I get the same message ("Invalid Current Password"). I am unable to do a password reset, of course.

You may wish to check into A2P 10DLC registration for your SMS sender... that may be causing your messages to fail delivery. That requirement is a fairly recent one.

Unfortunately you can't. You would need to create a new log in account and start all over again.

however, no email was ever received. Does this mean I just need to wait 7 days? (I've used the verification request tool on the eqemu, too. Doesn't work. That being said, I've had my account since 2014 and verified it ages ago..so..yeah)

Account number (322168) - having major issues with this SMS login. Cant reset password - cant get a verification code - hell I can't even verify the SMS number to make sure it's correct. There are so many people without access to their accounts because of the SMS system. Wish they'd just get rid of it and allow password resets via email like they do with the forum account !!

you wont/haven't lost your accounts. I am sure they are working on the fix as you type your end of the world comments because your mains are currently unaccesible. all will be ok im sure.

I have been locked out of a guise account for a year and in the time remedying this issue, an entire competing server has been created/released.

Guys!!!!!! You can skip the SMS verification system and create your login all you have to do is click the create login tab on the left of the screen and skip the SMS verification and create you login account!!!! Send me a tell if you need help!

I got it to work you do not have to get a text message you can skip the SMS system all together. When your in the screen where it ask for your SMS on the left of the screen where there is a tab to create your login account info the fourth step. Click that tab create you login once you have you can login and play the game!!! OMG i am so happy i figured this out i just want to share this to everyone who is trying to login EQ classic is my childhood and I want yall to join me!!

I found out a way to work around it you can skip the sms verification. On the same screen on the left hand side click the create a login tab the fourth step its is highlighted in blue and you can click it and it will let you create a login without the sms vertification.

so I still experience issues. I've been trying to reset the PWD using SMS for a month now, I try here and there like each week. SMS never arrives. I am positive I got the same number and everything as I was able to reset the PWD few years ago with this exact phone number. So any info on that would be much appreciated. I'm in Europe.
