Earth Staff suggestion

Howdy! As one of hundreds of mages who needs the earth staff as their final epic piece, I have a suggestion. Stick it as an ultra rare drop off An Ashenbone Drake (bones are made of earth minerals), a haunted chest (clearly made of spooky wood), and at least 3 of the mini bosses. Kind of like the undead sinew off seb jugs. What do you think, players and GMs?

Alot of this is your mentality. You say you need the earth staff as your final piece,but the reality is yourlno further along than a mage who hasn't done a thing since you both need the bottleneck.
Good luck on socking magi, I know people who spent hundreds of hours tracking hate minis trying to get a staff

At some point 2001-2002 the earth staff was changed to drop off male revenants in Hate. I wonder if someone can dig up the actual patch.

for the record this game isn't hard. there is no difficulty involved at all. the AI is very simple and the raid fights are straight forward. the more time you have to dedicate to this game, the more loot you'll get by zerging a raid boss down.

but keep telling yourself how hard it is :D

They could do a lot of things but I doubt any of it will happen. Get your air and water staff; it’s not the epic but it will work for 99% of the stuff you need a pet for.

As it sits the mage epic is a huge vanity piece. I don’t have but and don’t mind one bit.

This is so true! Mages make so many great friends tracking hate, batphoning it to their guild and everyone loading up on some sweet planar armour, rangers getting their earth callers, enchanters getting their vampire bits, etc.

It really gets a blitz spirit going. Then the mage gets epic, is ecstatic, gets dejected after a week or two, forgets their friends and barely logs in again.

I don't foresee anything being done about epics for new players here in the next few years because of the Quarm server lol. Unless you are friends with some cool TOP people in p99 LOL just forget about it!

i know there's a lot of cope in here but the only real argument you could try to make is to allow innoruuk to have a rare drop chance to drop a pre revamp loot table piece. in reality though even if they did this the sperg boys wouldnt touch hate until all the major velious targets were dead. so even if they did, it would be going to some random farm team which is basically what happens now for magi. so the solution you seek already exists. and the real issue is that youre in a mega guild instead of a small farm crew.

Exactly. You need Mages in raids, they will be required as long as CoTHing to targets is a valid raiding strategy.

But you don't need your Epic to CoTH or create mod rods.

Sadly pets are rarely used in raiding situation outside of pet tracking, so a Mage's pet becomes basically irrelevant.
