Our Singapore Trip - June 2024
Sarah and I finally saved up enough vacation days and money to take a trip to Southeast Asia in 2024. After coming across this informative blog about Singapore tourism, https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-singapore-statistics-2023-the-ultimate-guide-5549 we chose the city-state as our destination.
We fly out of Seattle on June 15th and have 10 days to explore. Here's a draft plan so far:
June 15th - Long travel day with layover in Tokyo, arrive late in SIN
June 16th - Rest day. Check into Hotel G (https://www.hotelg.com.sg/) near Orchard Rd
June 17th - Morning at Gardens by the Bay (https://gardensbythebay.com.sg/), afternoon at Marina Bay
June 18th - Tour Singapore Zoo (https://www.zoo.com.sg/) and Bird Park
June 19th - Hawker centers for lunch. Evening river cruise to admire skyline
June 20th - Full day at Changi Airport and Jewel complex
June 21st - Relax at hotel pool. Dinner at Clarke Quay
June 22nd - Take ferry to Sentosa Island for beach day
June 23rd - Bike ride around Pulau Ubin island
June 24th - Final museum visits before flight home
Let me know any must-see sights or eateries we shouldn't miss in your Singapore experience! Looking forward to exploring this fascinating city.

My travel plans are going to wendy's at precisely 11:45 AM because that's when they start frying up the first chicken breasts for their spicy chickens for the lunch hour, and they're always way better tasting when you get them fresh.

Another pro tip is to order your french fries without salt. Since they always automatically salt them, that means they have to make a fresh batch to accommodate you. Then, just put your own salt on your super hot and fresh fries.

Rent a car with ventilated seats. The swamp ass has been unbearable the past couple of years

this is my kind of vacation!
idk why as I get older I am less inclined to blow my money on trips. i'd rather spend my money on something tangible these days.

Back when I was a hardcore shut in this is what I would do. I had my windows covered in black bags and ducktape. 1 bed. and 1 pc for playing wow on. Nothing else, empty fridge. The only daylight I got was taking trash bags out (I was a neat freak even tho I didn't touch the spider webs).
The girl at the McDonalds chicken nugget drivethru at like 1am was the only human contact I had and that was it. Obviously we kept it professional. She was a sweetheart tho.

Wife chose Italy this year, so I get to choose Spain next year (and I speak a little Spanish, excited to use it!).
Will probably do Mexico with a couple we vacation with a lot next year as well, but that will be with the kids too.
If my parents are still working in S Korea we will probably go do Christmas with them next year all well. A 3-year-old on a 14 hour flight is going to be a hoot.

Thank you so much! I really want to try the street foods there in Singapore. I hear they offer different cuisine. I would take note of this!

A few weeks ski trip in Japan planned in February. Looking at doing a red sea liveaboard dive trip in April/May. Hopefully a hiking trip somewhere in the Alps in summer.
I've also been looking into Slovenia recently and it looks pretty nice. Cool hikes, lots of caves, some historical shit, and its pretty cheap.

This 2024, my travel plans have been pretty exciting, and my last big trip of the year is coming up soon—I’m heading to Miami in a week! I’m planning to explore South Beach, visit the Art Deco District, and check out Little Havana for some amazing Cuban food and culture. I’m also excited to see the Wynwood Walls and spend some time relaxing by the ocean.
For getting around, I’ve arranged to rent a car, and I found a great deal at https://realcar.miami/. I’ll be driving a Porsche Cayenne for $250 per day, which is perfect for cruising around Miami in style. Can’t wait to enjoy everything the city has to offer!
Just don't forget to Superman them hoes in South Beach Miami

Slovenia sounds awesome! I haven't been there myself, but I've done similar trips in places like the Swiss Alps where you get incredible hiking trails and a ton of natural beauty. If you’re into caves and historical sites, have you ever checked out Central Florida? There’s a spot I visited a while back near the Westgate River Ranch Resort that has that mix of outdoor adventure and peaceful downtime. Honestly, you might like the vibe, especially with their range of activities and glamping options. If you're curious about some fun ideas, you can always see water activities (https://www.westgateresorts.com/hotels/florida/river-ranch/westgate-river-ranch-resort/river-country-water-park/) there too!
