We got a message that the server was being taken down in 10 mins. Both Green and Blue are off. Lots of speculation about why. Some think its a merge, some think maybe getting ready for a holiday event. It's probably just your normal server restart but who knows. No announcements on here.

They could never merge cause most, not all, of us have max toons lsots filled on blue under same accounts as green. So unless they open account slots for characters to 16, it cant occur

I make a new account for each character. I thought that is what most people did.

Server has no limitation to how many characters are on an account. Its a client limitation that it only displays the top 8 in alphabetical order.

If they did merge and you had 9+ chars on one account, you would have to delete characters to see the deeper ones

They Don't, one of the many reasons why there will never be a merge

Nope, if you have a toon named Blormtgort on blue, you are able to make the same named toon on that account only on green or red

It's likely handled the same way live did it with their merges/splits over the years. Duplicate names get an "x" at the end, and any toons beyond the # of char slots are buried in the list until you delete a character to free up the slot. Just like vendor mining.

One would hope they'd increase the # of char slots, but /shrug if the version they're running supports that. A simple workaround would be to allow transfers to new accounts, but we all know it would be abused - so we're stuck with clearing slots ourselves.

If you duplicated your char name on green they said they would add an X at the end of the green char's name when it was merged to blue (which is how they handled duplicate names on live back in the day).
