New Toon, HELP ASAP! :P

Hope everyone is enjoying this fat Bonus event and ate enough for Christmas to justify extra toilet paper. I'm in desperate need of help deciding what new toon to make! I'm one of those degenerate players who refuses to get their epic on my 60 Druid and would rather level an alt for the fun. Currently I have a 60 Druid, 53 Shaman, 45 Necro, 45 Monk and 38 Cleric. I'm really considering a "tanky" class and was curious what your guys opinions were on either an SK, Warrior or Ranger.

Right now I'm leaning towards a warrior because from what I've read they're the better dps out of SK/Warrior with Rangers beating them in DPS but the lack of AC isn't too appealing. I don't want to raid tank or anything like that, I'd just like someone to have fun with a grind out some xp during the event. My plan is to stick to my favorite leveling places, Unrest, HHK, COM etc. I may try different zones I don't go to often.

I have fungi and will probably outfit whatever toon I decide with 20-30k more pp worth of gear. What are your guys thoughts on this? Maybe have 3 metrics to go off of.

SK or Paladin: if you want FD / pet go SK and if you want to have some chance at relevance at 60 for raiding go paladin (DS and soulfire).

Stay away from warrior. You said you don't want to raid tank and you want to stick to busy leveling places. SK / Pally going to be far better for pick up groups. They also solo far better than warrior too.

Fungi and a spiked seahorse belt. Fill the rest in w/ cheap HP gear. Good to go and within your budget.

if you have access to NTOV loot , they do decent

No but it sounds like you'll have the resources to burn some DS pots at tougher parts of your journey. They help a ton in sticky situations.

Use a Reaver til Narandi's Lance.

ranger is not tanky, even with tov gears - but they are fun and good looking

Yes, with a 2h like a Reaver/Narandi. They do as well as a warrior with EC aggro weapons if not more. Most the “bad dps knights” is based on raid parsing vs warriors with non-tanking weapons or misconceptions based on 3 patches ago.

I soloed to 60 with my pally using only a DW helm, reaver and then Narandi. Even with the old melee damage table it was a breeze. Easier than a SK and definitely easier than a ranger.
