Alabama to execute inmate with nitrogen gas (https://www.wbaltv.com/article/alabama-execute-inmate-nitrogen-gas/46535046)
Smith is one of two men convicted in the 1988 murder-for-hire slaying of Elizabeth Sennett. Prosecutors said he and the other man were each paid $1,000 to kill Sennett on behalf of her pastor husband, who was deeply in debt and wanted to collect on insurance.
I mean, it's approved for use in euthanasia in civilized countries. Sounds like a decent way to go imho.
Less painful than this anyway:

It's thought to not be painful whatsoever, you just lose consciousness and never get it back.

Death penalty (and suicide by state authorities) isn't Christian. Butt leaving insane and or demonicly possessed people to run around free hurting themselves and others without the opportunity and care needed to bring them to G-d isn't either.
Also, there are far worse crimes (sins ppl can do) than murdering a pastor for hire. Killing them outright just places those people directly in Satan's grasp.

Gassing this thread would also be par for the course for Armageddon. So imo. Go for it.
At least it isn't chlorine gas. I'm guessing "they" found a cheap and efficient way of collecting and recycling nitrogen. Why not just put cellophane over their holes tho? It's essentially the same thing and about as quick.
The only way to make it more humane is if they don't see it coming... like sit them in a room with a TV.

Watch the whole vid. The answer is compassion and the Bhuddist "step off the wheel of suffering". A little stoicism and faith in doing the right thing instead of the desirable thing helps to. (The right thing is to help others see the truth and also do the right things). Of their own volition.

Botched? (https://apnews.com/article/nitrogen-execution-death-penalty-alabama-699896815486f019f804a8afb7032900)
The execution took about 22 minutes from the time between the opening and closing of the curtains to the viewing room. Smith appeared to remain conscious for several minutes. For at least two minutes, he appeared to shake and writhe on the gurney, sometimes pulling against the restraints. That was followed by several minutes of heavy breathing, until breathing was no longer perceptible.

Should have just blocked his airways if they where concerned about his well-being. How much did it cost to gass him? Probably a lot of money. Many thousands of dollars if not more (millions) for the administration of the entire program Probably.
They* just want to normalize gassing ppl.
*yes, they*
Surprised if they didn't even use a mask. Like at the dentist.

This is an involuntary response following loss of consciousness by inert gas asphyxiation. Your body struggles and convulses, but nobody is home. He also tried to hold his breath as long as possible. They used a one size fits all mask rather than a sealed bag which is not the way to go, fucking Alabama. One very small opening in the seal and it becomes a much more drawn out process, which may or may not have been the case.

So, when an inert gas like nitrogen or helium goes into the lungs, it displaces all the oxygen. This causes the oxygen from your blood to very rapidly diffuse into the low-oxygen environment in your lung. At very high concentrations of nitrogen, this is an extremely quick process. This deoxygenated blood then circulates all around your body, where it gathers up all the oxygen from your tissues and brings it back to the lung to be ripped out again. Basically causes your respiratory system to work in reverse.
Most human physiological systems for regulating breathing are governed by carbon dioxide concentration, not oxygen concentration. Your body has ways of detecting too much carbon dioxide, but it has no way to detect inert gas until you're basically already unconscious (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Georgia_poultry_plant_accident). So if you just block an airway, this causes carbon dioxide buildup, which makes your blood and lung environment acidic as well as instilling panic and air hunger.
Done properly, inert gas is probably the most painless way to execute someone, outside blowing them up with dynamite, a nuke, or a shotgun blast to the brain.

That's what I had guessed. Fair play.

I think bag instead of mask gets you to 8th C/U. Even a unfavorably predisposed jurist is inculcated with child suffocation warnings.
They could have also used a sealed chamber like California used for cyanide.

Thanks for the explanation. Learned something todat! I've had my caratids pinched off before. I rapidly lost conciousness and it was really painless. I think the faster the brain loses oxygenation and blood flow the better. That is why they do halal butcherings.
An inflatable collar would probably do the trick too. Large enough diameter tho not like a true garrote with piano wire. They could even make the device space age looking and give sedatives b4.

Alabama Schedules Second Execution by Nitrogen Gas (https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2024-05-08/alabama-schedules-second-execution-by-nitrogen-gas)
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey set a Sept. 26 execution date for Alan Eugene Miller, who was convicted of killing three men during a 1999 workplace shooting. The execution will be carried out by nitrogen gas, the governor's office said. Miller survived a 2022 lethal injection attempt.

Wtf not just use fentanyl? How is this cheeper than the millions of actually relatively painless quick methods including a simple guillotine prolly... literally 7 seconds of consciousness unless ur like some Olympic athlete.

That’s goin out like a G though
If we get to pick our deaths can I pick to be strapped to a rocket and fired at the ground? Pretty sure I won’t feel that for long
Ooh or just give me a super hot dose of fentanyl so there’s a body. Then give me a Viking funeral with the body burning on a boat. And if I’m currently monogamous with a girl she has to throw herself on the fire. Sucks to be a girl, I didn’t make the rules

I know I'll never be there and probably wouldn't do it if I was there, but firing squad is the way to go.
There's no honor in dying by the needle or the rope.

Put me in a racecar with no top. Tie a rope around my neck, and the rope to a tree. I’ll punch the gas. Should pop my head right off. Keep a basket around somewhere. If it goes in I get a pardon

Good for South Carolina
I've always felt like if you're gonna sentence someone to death, they should be able to choose the method from like ~5 or so pre-approved methods
This is 'Merica damnit. Firing squad is as good as any way to go.

we'll have to drop them from like 50,000 feet so they hit the ground as a corpsicle and shatter
or over water
or if you survive, you get a pile of money and the title of champion
