Wow

Or

EQ.

Imho. Eq has better lore and cooler zones. WoW has some good characters.

both are shit lore wise and read like first drafts from someone's DnD campaign which Kunark literally was apparently.

i wouldn't put either in the like top 1,000 of video games for lore

EQ's lore is cool. WoW has some cool design but the lore is really boring to me. EQ's lore is like, "naive" in that early DnD way but in a way that doesn't really hinder it at all, if anything it makes it shine more.

WoW's lore continued (and continues) to get worse, I dunno about EQ's.

So then, what game has the best lore?

EQ is way better, mainly because it was drafted specifically to be the lore for a new mmo. WoW is just the lore from the warcraft RTS series slapped into an mmo, which always turned me off.

I would like to read some cool books written for the EQ series. They could really get deep into Xolous lore or Luclin and Drinal (vampire and werewolf stuff). And with its own more high fantasy magical take rather than IRL vampire lore or science vampires. Sorta mixed in with them manipulating and fighting the Combine.

But what about the vampire Chosooth?

Ok so then...

It's Max Payne for best game lore

But what about the vampire Chosooth?

So my conclusion is this: Something Chosooth knew, likely learned from the notes of Venril sathir who learned from the necromantic magic of the Shissar, granted a state of vampiric immortality that Xalgoz figured out in Kaesora once he left Chardok. Both Chosooth and Xalgoz exist in EQ2 lore as well, and Xalgoz is alive himself in Karnor's Castle. This means that whatever Xalgoz learned from Chosooths notes and tests in Kaesora granted him indefinite life as something in between necromancer and vampire that is wholly separate from Mayong's power.

So dudebro (Chosooth) reinvented or stole vampirism, parallelism, there are multiple types of Vampires in EQ, some from Akhevan (Luclin) or natural origins. Others more necromatic and unnatural origins. Chosooth probably stole / perfected Venril Sathirs for hisself.

See the wacky lore possibilities of EQ is better especially if you don't try retconning everything as a lot more EQ lore exists in patchwork of quests many people did.

Chosooth is a *fake vampire* much like I am artificial in many ways... butt this begs the question philosophically. Chosooth is a real vampire even if they got there unnaturally or without divine methods. Because at heart they are vampiric and the knowledge was innate to their destiny...so they where meant to be at least vampiric in nature.

Extremely moist content on that link. Thanks!

the Nathsar tribe, but some of the most powerful Iksar in history belonged to it, and most of them have made attempts at immortality, they also had cannibalistic tendencies similar to the Jarsath.
