Hi,

Made a solo self found enchanter currently level 13 doing wisps in Erudin crossing to make spell money and jewel craft.

After GLS turn ins I should be likely lvl 17 and was curious if anyone had some enchanted gear goal recommendations as I level and explore dungeons, etc.

I want to make this an adventure and enjoy the process of exploration as much as possible. Thanks!

Stein of Moggok is a fun quest, and doable by a level 12 agnostic Enchanter. It's a good piece too with +10 INT.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Qeynos_Badge_Quests is probably a good quest line too for an Enchanter, but I've never done it myself.

Gatorscale Sleeves are a classic caster piece, and not difficult to camp once you are at the appropriate level.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Coldain_Prayer_Shawl_Quests Should be doable by a solo Enchanter in the endgame if you are willing to buy Royal Kromriff Blood from other players. I think you can get everything else self found.

Have fun doing self found!

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm underway witht the stein of moggok quest. I died 3 times and had long CR's back to blackburrow from Gfay but will be worth it.. appreciate the suggestions.

For sure you need a rod of insidious glamor. And there are some other decent pieces that drop in Guk like braided cinch cord, runed cowl, gatorscale sleeves and embroidered black cape.

I would personally concentrate on getting exp first and then farming stuff when you're a bit over-leveled for it.

Seems like we need an "Equipping an Enchanter" wiki page, so I started one: https://wiki.project1999.com/Equipping_an_Enchanter

It's not as advanced as the ones for Druids (https://wiki.project1999.com/Equipping_a_Druid), Shaman (https://wiki.project1999.com/Equipping_a_Shaman), etc. ... but if people contribute to it, it could be.

This is exactly what I was looking for so I could kind of map out what dungeons to crawl for gear as I level. Hope to see this expanded, thanks again

My advice is that on a server this old, all tradeskills will just waste your plat: everything will take you more time/plat to make than if you just bought it from another player, or looted (something equivalent). Even on a fresh server, most tradeskills have limited value.

I say this as someone who has completed the "epic tradeskill quest" (7th shawl) and is currently working on mastering blacksmithing. I <3 tradeskills ... but they just aren't worth your time on P99 if you want to level.

Bonus tip: most gear isn't worth your time either, especially as a caster. Focus on levels and loot whatever you get as you level: you'll do just fine gear-wise, and reach 60 much faster.

Totally understand, just more into the journey and self found aspect / struggle for some reason

The wiki is very in depth and has many guides, such as the treasure hunting guide. I’d give that a glance as it gives recommended levels and loot you can get. I like to deep dive into the wiki for efficient ways to level that aren’t the typical path. It has a great amount of info on each mob. I usually browse it extensively while on the toilet lol to see where I’m gonna go explore on alts

I forgot you were doing that, but everything I said still applies, if not more so.

In Classic EQ stat gear is designed to both look attractive and be worthless to low levels characters. That's simply the truth of the game.

And sadly, another truth is that all tradeskills can make is bad low-level stat gear (with a few exceptions that prove the rule, eg. tailored backpacks).

There are a bunch of quests you can do as an enchanter leveling up for pretty decent rewards. I see someone added Rod of Insidious Glamour to Looraden’s post, that one is a must have. Also someone posted Qeynos Badge of Honor which is another fun one with a decent reward (worn see invis). Some other quests/adventures you can work on while you’re leveling up:

- Di’Zok Signet of Service - (Lvl 35-60) Ring with great stats for amount of effort involved. Buy skins/salts from other people or farm them on your own in Droga. You will want faction in Chardok anyway for soloing later as an enchanter! Increase your faction in Chardok to Warmly (can be slightly under with Collaboration). Faction is the only requirement to receive this first ring.
- Helssen’s Prismatic Trinket - (Lvl 40-60) Superb enchanter earring, fun quest that you can complete early if you go giant faction first, or at level 60 with Dictate on turn in mob - involves keying to floor 6 of Tower of Frozen Shadow, which is one of my favorite zones to level in, and involves gathering other quest items in Velious zones as you level up.
- Incandescent Armor Quests in Temple of Solusek Ro - (Lvl 20-40) Some pieces are better than others, but OK mid-range filler gear and you can get pieces as you level.
- Robe of the Ishva - (Lvl 39-45) Cool-looking robe with decent enchanter stats (minus HP) - this was a fun camp personally for me to solo/duo in as an enchanter.
- Hooded Black Cloak - (Lvl 40-45) Levitate onto the roof of Mistmoore and solo/split kill the dhamphyre room for this sweet cloak with decent HP.
- Phenocryst’s Focus - (Lvl 40-60) Nice secondary item and a decently fun quest with a cool scripted ending in the geonid caves in WL.

These are just a few examples, some are easier to obtain than others, but all of them will give you something to work towards!

I would add Goblin Gazughi ring to the list. It drops off a lvl 14 mob but the camp is a massive pain in the ass. Definitely easier at higher levels when you can use a buffed animation and pull with lowest level tash. It will help a ton when charming later.

As an aside, one of your later Tashan line spells requires a quest which will take you to several of the cities in Norrath. So as far as exploration goes that should check the box.

Great list here here: https://wiki.project1999.com/Enchanter#Pre-Planar

Many of the items on that list are soloable on an enchanter starting in the mid 30's.

You can also level jewelcrafting to make your own items but it is pricey.

Also, I highly recommend doing the incandescent gear quests from the temple of sol ro. They are high quality and enjoyable quests.

This is all so helpful, especially the quests. Much appreciated. Really enjoying the journey. I sometimes miss groups but can play another char if I ever get time (not likely)!

Any other recommendations?

About to ding 20.
