I recall from when I played EQ in about the year 2000 that mobs also had cons of light blue and gray, which were below blue and green respectively to give you some more precise information on how far below you the mobs are and, in the case gray, whether you would get XP or not.

Am I misremembering this or was this not a feature yet in '99?

I didn't play back then. The way it works on p99 is you have to read the text to see if a green con gives exp, "you will probably win the fight... it's not for certain" or something like that.

I actually don't know how much exp those mobs give, I rarely kill greens. I believe it's 50%.

Originally EQ just had blue and green, but in one of the expansions they added the light blue color. Before that "light blue" mobs (ie. mobs barely high enough to give you XP) existed, but they were colored green.

Grey was put in later I'm fairly sure, I came back in 2008 for a moment and grey was there.

I believe light blue should be working on P99's timeline in its final month (November 2001). When this was removed, I am not sure if they put a rule on it or not. I'll mention it again to the team.

Isn't light blue supposed to go away at a certain level too? Like once you are high enough level. Or am I totally mistaken?
