I noticed this a while ago. Prob a few years ago to be honest. I remember when I could google anything and find it within seconds. Even ridiculous stuff you wouldn’t expect to be online. Now I try google, DuckDuckGo, bing, yandex etc. and it’s just crickets. With or without a VPN.
It’s funny to think about too because they always warned us that if you post something online it’s forever. Now I can’t even find viral YouTube videos from 10-15 years ago. It’s like they are forever lost to time. The true dark age of the internet.
I feel like I can’t be the only person who noticed this obvious purge.

I couldn’t find the video of Professor Oak relentlessly teasing Garry that if he had just loved his pokemon a little bit more then he wouldn’t have immediately lost his Championship to red.

Yep. Dead internet.
You will only find what they want you to find. And they own the paid services so you'll find those first.

wasn't that blue, not gary?
the anime differs slightly from the game, whereas in the game your rival loses and gets reprimanded by oak, in the anime ash is a loser, according to certain street signs. I specifically remember the one time that ash and gary did fight, gary obliterated ash/pikachu with his eevee, no less.
Memory is a fickle thing. Ash and Gary never had a match in the elite 4, where Ash beat Gary. Red and Blue had that match though, where Red won.
To be perfectly clear, Blue was Red's Rival, not Gary. Alternate timelines and whatnot, we all know it was Gary, but just for preservational sake, it was Blue, since Gary is 100% canonized as a different anime version with a different experiences, matches, wins/losses, etc.
In example: Gary did not defeat Giovanni, Blue did defeat Giovanni.
But yeah, the internet has been on a constant path of "being deleted" sometimes intentionally, sometimes not intentionally. There are many old sites that don't exist anymore simply because the servers couldn't support themselves or they got nixxed. The internet isn't forever. It's as temporary as everything else.
Google and DuckDuckGo also have additional "suspicions" surrounding them as far as narrative and negative results go. The age old search of "American Inventors" is always a classic. It often won't even yield the wright brothers as a result. There are other key phrases you can use to expose the narrative algorithms, but it's fairly clear that if you want information at this point, you have to dig deep to find it. This is basically the 90's internet at this point where nothing works and you have to dig 7 layers deep to find a gameshark code for invincibility.

Internet Archive...
Unless you specifically ask them to never scrape your URL.
Many here already know of this site. Some dont. They know who they are. Unless they are a bot and have zero self awareness.
Grip on grippers. Grip, grip grip!
Old sites are dead indeed!

I’m switching between Red/Ash/Jack John/Blue/Garry as a nod to the fact I can’t remember the name options the sketch chose to roll with. Anyone got a link?

Well, if you want to know where the quote was from specifically, it was from the post-battle dialogue after you beat blue(gary) in the video game.
There was a pokemon movie-esc animation that followed the game closely, it was like 5 or 7 episodes and was in the past 10-ish years I think?
oh, you also might be confusing that scene for one from one of the pokemon movies as well. I recall both of the first 2 movies having iconic "love your pokemon" or "trust your partner" scenes.
Just look up any gameplay of red/blue and skip towards the rival fight at the very end, you'll see the dialogue.
EDIT: personally, I think if you're looking for really old videos, it might help to use those really old websites. Pre-youtube stuff.
There was newgrounds and umm... whatever that pre-onion site was, I forget.
They had a crapload of comedic stuff. My favorite was the video where they predicted that the whole world would turn emo by 2011.

I've definitely noticed google search results getting crappier over time. Often if you google a relatively straightforward technical question, it will offer "official" answers where it's that drop down thing that shows an answer from somewhere supposedly authoritative, and the answer often doesn't make sense or is full of grammatical errors.

Oh youtube is really shitty and bad now too. I'm constantly getting recommended videos from channels with no subs, and the videos being recommended have like 30 views. Why would such total dogshit ever be recommended to such an esteemed youtube addict as myself, totally out of nowhere?
This gem just rolled on through: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oAlxl8kh4A
Thanks youtube! I'm glad that like 2 seconds ago you were all pearl clutchy about "disinformationzzz!"
