Hey there everyone. Just thought I’d poke my head in and let you all know my account has been banned for boxing ( I couldn’t run a figure eight in unrest). To all the cool peeps I have run into during my 5 years of playing P99, thank you! Regardless of whether I was guilty as charged or not I have been subject to harsh punishment. No warning or chance to save my account and my son’s being permanently banned. Not looking for sympathy or asking for help, just bidding fairwell. From Takahe and Wulfez, take care and have fun! Oh and Baragon in EC which was our shared mule. Sorry I would have logged in one last time to share what I have earned with some in need but was given no time. 1) You say you’re not looking for sympathy but with a post like that you definitely are.

2) This is a free game thus they don’t owe you anything. Thats why the penalty you got was appropriate. I just hope they would apply the same penalty to other violations like ninja looting a raid target.

3) Your boxing must have been ridiculously obvious since we got people obviously boxing scout/ring 8 rolls without punishment.

Lol good posts! Nah won’t be back. I did end up apologizing but not before the bone they threw me hit the floor. I’m permanently banned and won’t be back. Get this tho, they did however say that I’m allowed to still play P99 just without my original accounts. So the cheater is allowed to keep playing, just without my chars and stuff. Not a crazy amount of plat or items (which I would’ve given away… seriously total waste that they take all that away from me when I could’ve actually logged in and give it away to some needy newbs! But who wants a cheater’s money and stuff. Then they can ban me and I’d be good with that. I did this briefly and I explained to them why. I also worked very hard for all that I have don’t make that mistake in labelling me as a cheater. I use the term loosely and in jest when referring to myself in this situation. You have no authority to judge me, and neither do they other than holding the keys to the game that they make the rules to. Never once have I even considered real money trading, I’ve never KS’d anyone and never ninja looted. Hell, I don’t even use an alternate UI. I always treat every player I meet in the game with respect, unless they give me a reason not to. So take your little judgement hat off. Cheers

it literally says in the MoTD every time you log in "Boxing multiple characters will result in a permanent ban"

it doesnt say "based on the situation and how kind and generous of a player you are"

To claim you worked hard for everything you have in the game, we all have. It’s a time demanding game. I played honestly and considerately, but I slipped up once and I was punished. I should also mention I rob banks when not playing P99. Shhhh 🤫 Like I said, it would’ve been cool if all was for not and I could hand out some of my stuff so someone could benefit from it. 🤷🏻*♂️ Cheers

I don’t think I ever said I was a nice guy!! I broke the rule, they banned me. No need to tell me I can still play the game even though I’m a said “cheater” makes real sense. They did make it clear that real money trading and boxing was an bannable offense, and they are not reversed. So why “throw me a bone”? So you can feel you made the right call in which you were perfectly without doubt, enough to ban me anyways. Damn, stop with the replies… I keep coming back and I don’t want to lol. Kinda have some free time lately !! ��

First of all let me make this clear I did not spend five years playing this game cheating. If I did, I would call myself very successful lol.

But yes..

… I agree. Like I said, I slipped up and I paid the price. I have my reasons (not for cheating) but for slipping up and making a bad judgement call. I admitted that I broke the rule, but not on time for my accounts to be unbanned even though they say it’s not reversible. My goose is cooked. No point in wasting, make some sides and enjoy!! ��

We actually have a third account in which my wife was actually supposed to play, but never ended up committing to. Neither of us can remember the account name or password. I don’t even recall which email we used and I’m not interested in even putting in the work to figure that out. Only two level 10 characters on it anyways. �� almost forgot about that account, but I was reminded when I went over old posts and saw the two in which I requested IP exemptions for the second and third accounts. I was thinking third? Oh yeah!

Like I said before I was told I can make different accounts and continue to play….weird! Because like Rachel Green‘s mom said “once a cheater always a cheater”… Holy crap did I just date myself…I feel old!! Cheers!! DOH…different sitcom!!

I don't have the time to start over, plus my character's/names are important to me. The only way i'd continue to play if it was a temp ban and they reinstated my account. I know i know.....then don't cheat. I was running out of time to play and just wanted to level my Druid and Shaman. Shaman was in a double hell and it was agonizing. LOL I was one kill away (literally) from dinging out of it too. I remember seeing a char lurking....a gnome that gave me a bad feeling. I think he was a rat. Dude I would have gave you 6's if you really wanted it LOL!!!

I don't imagine they'll lift a ban for that. Next time maybe just /who all (pertinent level range) and find a monk or someone to lvl with. Not sure what to tell you. Have fun on project quarm?

Where'd did i say that? My son's account was assisting my account with the char (my shaman) i was trying to level! Also i don't use my wife's account as it was intended for her. They can IP check all they want, there is no accounts being used on my IP. They have the info as i applied for an exemption when it was made way back. If fact it hasn't been used in over a year or two. But thanks for your 2 cents, which is about all it's worth! Cheers

My error was to use my son's (was out of town) Ranger to break camp for my Shaman.

This is schadenfreude. It is sad to see anyone banned - p99 is the players!

However, there is a funny element (in a sad way) I frequently use my ranger to split camps / harmony / snare lock / etc ... but I do it by switching between toons cos the spells have enough duration to do so.

If WRC was indeed using the ranger mainly to break the camp there was no need to get banned (but surely he could have used the druid on same account to do so too)?

BTW WRC, a decent way to PL with a ranger is to beat the crap out of a level 50ish mob to like 3% hp, snare it, camp out to the PL recipient then finish it off with that second toon. The mob will probably out of combat regen up to 20% hp, but that is fine since it will quickly be knocked back into flee mode.
