Soul defiler is super valuable for the proc, but the stats also aren't bad (+75HP, svs randomly useful) for a 1h. Frostwrath is for alts and looking cool in the tunnel.

When did I say sks have no value?
Sks are just not a class you use as dps,especially an sk using a 1h weapon.

Purely for white damage ratio difference, its 13.56060606 for Frostwrath, vs 14.122807 for Soul Defiler at level 60.

Yea soul defiler will be better for speed/dmg bonus. And having call of bones on an sk will be really nice. Soul defiler all day imo.

DPS will vary by target. The Frostwrath is ok but mainly shines when the DD lands (blue cons, susceptible target) and you have a string of proc luck. The Soul Defiler is a better raw ratio but is about on par with a Reaver.

I’d get a ToV or similar 2h. For a budget buy the Rocksmasher is great. If you have 41% haste elsewhere other options are out there. The only time I use a 1h/shield is when I’m tanking and wanting to look like a try-hard.

Soul Defiler will outdamage Frostwrath ever so slightly. One reason is because the rate of FW's proc isn't the best. Also the higher in level you go, the proc gets resisted a lot. Soul Defiler's proc will also allow you to recover mana in combat to land another clutch Drain Soul which is 338 HP you might need.

Personally I use Greenmist if I already have Soul Defiler proc because the lifetap effect lasts so long and I can swap to epic to have their effects stack if lucky.

Being in Skeleton form also fixes the issue. Personally I have never understood the big issue with Iksar 2H animation.

Main benefit of Frostwrath is it's cheaper and more common than Soul Defiler. Ratios are similar, so DPS shouldn't be vastly different between the two. If you can only pick one, go Soul Defiler for the proc.

The answer of which is better is clear. Soul defiler … and it is not even close.

If you’re in a situation where you care about DPS you will be using a 2hander … but swapping to get a soul defiler proc any time you don’t have c2.

If you are tanking and don’t care about DPS - they’re so close that it doesn’t really matter.

Having access to CoB when sk’s otherwise don’t have it? Priceless.

But one is going to be cheap and the other much more expensive.
