After latest patch mouselook right/left is super slow. Up down is fast.
Ive confirmed resolution is same in game as monitor.
Monitor refresh rate is 60.

When I set the games refresh rate to 60 or 30 or anything it doesnt help.

Also, the game turns refresh rate back up to 100 when I zone or relog.

I'd really like the side to side mouselook to work how it used to. Is there something I havent tried that may return it to how it used to be? (Normal)

Having the same issue here.

Everything was normal before patch. I logged out as instructed, got the new files, logged back in and boom; horizontal mouse look speed is now extremely slow. Seems no matter which settings I adjust, the horizontal speed is roughly half the vertical speed. Adjusting the max framerate slider in the game options doesn't seem to do anything at all.

Oh, and I also noticed that with levitate on the "bobbing" rate is now extremely fast and shallow. I don't "bob" up and down very far, but it's much more rapid. Looks like there's a small earthquake happening at all times with lev on now. Again, it wasn't like this before the most recent patch.

Both these problems seem to be related to framerate. I just don't understand what could have changed in a patch that would effect my client's core framerate?

Changes made with dsetup.dll

Ive not heard of any other fix or workaround other than reverting back to the dsetup.dll from the previous patch

Hmm I hadn't heard of this. Is it possible to replace just that one file with the old one and still play? Won't it notice it's the wrong version?

I'll backup my current install and try that thank you

Posting to confirm that replacing dsetup.dll with an older version from a previous patch fixed this.

However I only had patch files from V56. For some reason my download folder had no zip called 57, so I just used the dsetup.dll from the V56 update instead, and it immediately fixed this problem. Thank you Kavious.

I replaced my dsetup.dll with the one from v57 and it didnt help the left right mouselook bug or the bobbing bug
The dsetup.dll I found is file version 3.49.0.0
Is that the version you have that works?

I found the v56 file and it solved everything

This is due to the FPS changes where the client is stuck at 100 FPS for some ridiculous reason. You can fix it by pinning your FPS at 60 (or less than 100), e.g. with a GPU control app.

Can you please share that file?

Just wanna confirm here, that replacing the dsetup.dll file from the V56 zipfile solved the problem for me.

Also having the same issue. Fixed by forcing the framerate down externally.
For anyone else running on Wine, you can do this (with DXVK enabled) by setting the environment variable:
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60

If all else fails, different kinds of input scripting programs such as AutoHotKey can be used to adjust mouse movement speed for each axis separately. Some gaming mice software allow this out of the box aswell, like Logitech Gaming Software, for example.

I found another thread discussing this same issue and there it was stated the reason for the weirdly fast up and down mouselook speed is that the newest patch (v58) makes the game client reset the in-game FPS cap to the maximum (100) even if you have set it to something lower, like probably 60 for most people, which initially fixed this problem for me in the older patches when I started playing for the first time. The easiest way to fix this at the moment is to externally cap the game's FPS to 60 from outside the game, like from nVidia's or AMD's control panel, if you have happen to have a GPU from either of those vendors, or then some other third party tool like RivaTuner. In nVidia's control panel you can set the max framerate for each program on your computer separately so all I had to do is browse for eqgame.exe and add it to the list of programs there and then set the "Max Framerate" field to 60 and voilá.
