I'm getting "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server."

I've rebooted & still getting the message.

Same here .. it has just started for me .. have been playing most of the day on and off?? Any solutions?

I've tried:
Reboot of PC.
Change of PC to laptop
Reinstall of patch files

Ive been swapping back and forth on chars all night, it just started for me as well. I am assuming this is something server side since we are all experiencing it

Getting the same issue, can't log into any servers now

If you setup Middlemand, it gets around the login issues (easy to setup)

I tried middleman and it did nothing

I can log in and get a full server list but I get this error trying to connect to any servers

We are aware there is an issue with the login servers, resulting in an unknown error message. Typically, these issues resolve on their own. In this particular case, the problem has persisted. We have contacted, Rogean. During this time, please be patient.

Not sure how much more I can set it up

1. Open middleman.exe ..it opens a black box
2. Edited eqhosts.txt in my eq folder

Has made zero difference to anything, still get a full list.

Either it's not reading the eqhost changes or something else is amiss.


Edit:

Went through it all again, deleted and made a new eqhosts
Now I'm getting just P99 servers and can log in

I dont know what the magic is, but whatever login server the problem is the Middlemand program gets around it.
I've added loading middlemand to the launch_titanium batch file so no extra steps with logging in

Its a login helper and when setup you'll only see p99 servers

Seems to be server side tried to log in on different accounts on different computers on different internets get same message everytime. Laptop wouldn't connect at work and desktop got same message at home. 3-5 am est 11/23/24

You, good sir, are a miracle worker! Solved the issue for me.

I just had to save the edited txt file outside of the eq folder (saved to my desktop) and then replace the original with it. I hate windows and their lame admin rights on personal pcs.

Just randomly started working for me again now a day later thank goodness! :D .. haven't changed anything so hopefully keeps working :)
