I'm an old-school EQ player who was big into the game back during the original run (started in RoK and quit when Luclin came out due to RL stuff).
I've bounced back in and out of EQ over the years, but never found that magic that the original game had. I'm sure you've all heard this story.
Anyway, I had a few questions that I hope can be answered.
1. Is the green (or blue) server's economy still reasonable? I remember back in the original game that once the game got to a certain point that everybody was overgeared for the content. Things like level 5 characters running around in gear that drops off of Trak'anon, etc. Is that the case with this server now, or does it still give that feeling of accomplishment when you actually get a gear upgrade in Guk?
2. Are there still low-level characters to group with or is everyone now level 60, leaving the newbie zones deserted?
3. Are there "leveling" guilds around? As in, could I join a guild and actually be with people around my own level as a new character? I guess that even an established guild with plenty of alts could work for this too, I'm just not looking to be PLed or for the gear handouts that some of them did in the old days.
4. Which server is closer to the game that I remember playing back in 2000 and 2001? Green or Blue? I'll roll a character tonight on green as a test, but I'm open to switching servers if need be.
5. The leveling is still close to the old days, right? I've tried the "Progression" servers that Daybreak does, but on all of those I was able to get a new character to level 50 in about 8 hours. That's ridiculous, I prefer the old days when it took weeks or months to get a toon up to max level.
Thanks for any insight!
