Evening all, I had this solved two years ago but for the life of me couldn't remember what I did when I wanted to fix it again so I am putting it here. I know many of you suffer with this, some don't care, some do.
Pixel squish/deletion - where you get the funky text whenever it enters a certain part of your screen. This only impacts windowed mode. I am not at all technically savvy enough to know the ins and outs of it but oddly enough on my laptop connected to a monitor this doesn't happen even with the same operating system. So maybe it is a deeper issue and someone has a true technical fix for it.
The fix:
1. Download Windowed Borderless Gaming (free) -- NOT Borderless Gaming (steam/github - I paid for that and for some reason step 6 doesn't work with it)
2. Run EQ, set your resolution (I personally do my desktop resolution, not sure if it 100% matters, but that is what is working for me). (alt+o, display, video modes, find the resolution your desktop is set to and hit accept).
3. Run WBG, right click the app bottom right and set it to accept new window (F3)
4. Click into EQ and hit F3
5. EXIT WBG
6. Go back into EQ hit alt+o, display and click video modes and hit accept on the same resolution you had. The game should pop out of borderless mode but the pixel squish should be gone.
Edit: FYI in the future you just have to get into EQ, open WBG click into EQ and it should pop back into full screen, then repeat step 3-6. It probably runs fine to run WBG before EQ but I find the more crap going on with this old client the more chances for crashes and it will be popping in and out for all of the windows.
Hope this helps many of you out and may Google find this for the frustrated souls.
Now if a kind soul could one up this that maybe has been secretly working with the answer: tell me how to run in borderless mode in EQ without the mouse being further off the further down you go on the screen in EQ. That would ultimately be what I want as I do not want to play EQ in actual legit full screen but WBG full screen. I've been told if it impacts you it is unfixable and I do not believe it.
