I just came back to play my lvl 40 war on Green. I grinded so hard when green started I burnt myself out after getting a DE mask. Now I log in to find myself with no pants and wearing classic trash gear.
Any suggestion as I only have the one toon for an ogre war to solo to make cash for gear? I would feel too guilty trying to group as a tank with what I'm wearing.

You'll be fine, at 40 you can goto city of mist probably. It sucks so bad Noone will notice your premier gear.

Welcome back! You basically did everything you had to do in Classic. DE mask is all you needed. Ogre is especially great when you're not twinked either.
It may not be worth the hassle but murdering in the warrens so you can farm guards in paineel may be a decent idea but probably HHK is better.

ain't nobody care if you ain't geared.
Muscle thru CoM groups to 46, you may pick up an engulfing darkness sword there. Then head to a sky raid and get a rotting belt of contention for haste (you may be able to scavenge some silverchitin handwraps from velks instead).
another good rotquest is /who all steamfont watch out for people doing the rogue epic mob there, trochilic's skean is a decent off-hand weapon for 46+ wars.
All that said, concensus is 2handed weapons are the way to go.
I recently started a thread on budget war weapons which may be useful to you. The sarnak battle hammer is a 30/40 2hb which you may find on npc vendors in kunark for 20pp if you're lucky... players may just give it away to you.
That kinda ratio is okay for groups, but things like ranger's swarmcaller will be hard to take aggro from.
if you stumble across 7k something like herballist's spade or truncheon of doom are good.

If you don't have jboots those are nice but for a warrior I'd say haste and weapons are more important.

~Just reposting this to emphasise the server is very community minded while levelling up.
It is wrong to think that your under-geared warrior is leeching, being carried, not pulling it's weight, etc.
People will still want your in group, and not out of philanthropy.
This is an mmo and they know they could be god-mode soloing if they wanted, BUT it is in the server's interest (and so in the collection of individuals' interests) to help get wars levelled up and geared up (which only really happens properly once raiding) as it will help them out immensely to have friendly warriors available to help versus mobs that are difficult/impossible to solo.
To a degree you have to detach yourself from the idea that this is 'your' warrior. It is also the server's warrior, so they benefit from any gain you receive.

Thanks for all the great advice guys! I just noticed them all. Soon as I get some time I will pop back in and see if I can group up.

I dont disagree here but depending on OP's time restraints they may not be able to "on call" to be a server warrior.
Again it is a good thought to have to be a shared resource.

You might run into the odd try-hard that complains about your gear killing their performance or whatever.
Just ignore them, they are the idiot here.
