title says it all: Any suggestions?

Also looking for Ench/Nec duo spots that give good money and also exp, which arent already on the "ultimate leveling while making money guide" cuz these spots are overcamped.

thanks in advance

PS: i've already done stein of moggok

Quick side note: at the early levels, you often earn plat and XP by repeating quests (Blackburrow/Splitpaw Gnoll Teeth, Crushbone Belts, etc.). But, once you get past 20 or so, there are very few good repeatable quests. If you're repeating a quest, it's usually to farm an item, not to get XP or plat (directly; the stein you mentioned is a perfect example).

There are a few exceptions, eg. Drolvarg Teeth (https://wiki.project1999.com/Drolvarg_Teeth), but even then they don't give meaningful plat or that much extra XP. At higher levels, quests (that give XP/plat and not items) are really more of an "icing on the cake" thing.

In other words, after 20 it's not about quests, it's just about killing lots of stuff ...

I'm a little biased, but the guide you referenced has maybe 30-40 spots total. Might I recommend the Per-Level Hunting Guide (http://wiki.project1999.com/Per-Level_Hunting_Guide) (with 322 spots) instead?

P.S. If you want plat instead of levels, there's also the https://wiki.project1999.com/Treasure_Hunting_Guide.

But ... classic EQ strongly values levels over gear. If Bob farms an item and then uses it to level, while Fred spends the same amount of time leveling, then farms the item, who will spend less time in total?

The answer (except for the really valuable items, eg. JBoots) is almost always that Fred will spend less time, because levels add so much more power than stats.

IF you want to be most efficient, I'd advise spending most of your time on the Per-Level guide, and save the Treasure Hunting one for when you're higher level, or if you need plat for spells or a truly key item (eg. I'm not an Enchanter expert, but I suspect the Goblin Gazughi Ring (https://wiki.project1999.com/Goblin_Gazughi_Ring) will save you more time in the long run than it takes to acquire).

Thanks for your suggestion. Its not about the exp its about items/upgrades, because right now, i dont want to exp too much because i wanna stay at about the same level as my duo partner currently. therefore i need stuff to do.

sidenote: call me masochristic but i like questing too (real quests, not stuff like belts/gnoll ears and so on).

Gotcha. If you're trying not to get XP efficiently then my usual advice goes out the window: you'll absolutely want to focus on the Treasure guide, not the Per-Level one.

Other than treasure and XP, the only other things you can work on in the game are faction and tradeskills. There are a few uses of tradeskills/factions in the game, but (especially at your level) you have to be a bit masochistic to work on either one ...

Well, grinding faction or becoming a tradeskiller might be for you ;)

Mystic Cloak (https://wiki.project1999.com/The_Mystic_Cloak) quest I do all the time, great quest and item! Im not sure your necro friend can do that one. But you're at a great level to solo that one as enchanter!

Hmm Im gonna think and add more.

Might be fun for you to do the Temple of Sol Ro quests (https://wiki.project1999.com/The_Temple_of_Solusek_Ro), if you havent for yourself already those are decent items!

But as an enchanter, you likely could do the Necro ones for your friend as well, so when they match your level you can give them all the shadowed Sol Ro armor!

Ill keep thinking.

Get a couple leather foot raider skullcaps (https://wiki.project1999.com/Leatherfoot_Raiders), those are always handy.

Jboots (https://wiki.project1999.com/Journeyman%27s_Boots_Quest) for yourself.

You might be able to do thex mallet quest (https://wiki.project1999.com/Thex_Mallet_Quest) (for reaper of the dead for your necro friend) as an enchanter.. maybe at least you can help your friend do the turn in.

It's a great quest, I do it on every character i ever play.

I always try to pull the ghoul magus to the bedroom group in my low teens and get the key early.

I would say, if you can do 2 quests, do Mystic Cloak & Rod of Glamor.

The rod of glamor (https://wiki.project1999.com/Rod_of_Insidious_Glamour_Quest) from sol ro (of all the sol ro quests) that's the most valuable to low level chanter IMO!

Froglock Priest (https://wiki.project1999.com/A_froglok_priest) is the toughest kill for that one, and it's no walk in the park your first time solo... but at your level it is possible to solo that kill, just will be a challenge.

Incandecent Gloves (https://wiki.project1999.com/Incandescent_Gloves) are good until you can get your own impskin gloves (you two can camp those together in your low 30s!)

If your friend isn't twinked, get them some Shadowed Armor (https://wiki.project1999.com/ShadowBound_Armor_Quests):)

The Harvester (https://wiki.project1999.com/Harvester_Quest) is such a cool item, that you will outlevel in your late 20s, so if you can grab it for your friend, they will look so cool! Should be ez for you to put that together alone in one night of adventure!

OP, go to the gear page in the Wiki and sort through the find gear your class can use, +INT/+CHA gear for example. You can usually find some pieces that are quest rewards and the quest page will of course tell you what level you roughly need to be to complete it. I did this on Green at launch and it was useful.

Thanks again for all suggestion. Any idea at what lvl ench/nec can duo AC for jboots?

Also for exp: solA vs. Splitpaw vs. tofs vs. crystal caverns for ench/nec lvl 32 duo? Too many options ;D

AC is 41 so id imagine an ench and necro could duo it at 32 but could be tough?

Splitpaw.. is a little easier than Sol A but less mobs so a little slower IMO.

You could prob go to CC at 32 and be fine. Spiders are like 30-32 iirc

SolA is great, but its old school, so the mobs are a little tighter, and it can be swarmy.

I would personally enjoy sola over the other 2 choices, but splitpaw/CC might be a little easier.

Shovel already covered Sol A and Splitpaw.

Crystal Caverns is uniquely awesome for tradeskillers, especially Shawl crafters: it and Velk's are the only places to farm Velium and crystal spider silks, but Velk's is much higher level (and busier).

Even if you're not a tradeskiller, learning just a bit of pottery and farming CC will let you craft the (very handy) Thurgadin Gate Potion (https://wiki.project1999.com/Thurgadin_Gate_Pots). Also, I believe that (with illusion/faction buffs) your Enchanter can vendor and bank at the town within the zone.

TOFS is a really fun dungeon (one of the best-made in the game IMHO), and I think it has a pretty good ZEM. It's also almost all undead, so the Necro can use all their undead-specific spells. The only problem with it is the corpse runs.

TOFS has seven levels, each with their own NO DROP (but not soul bound) key. In other words, if you bind outside, then die on level 2+, you'll respawn without the keys you need to return.

The best solution is to key up a high-level alt. A cleric is the best since they can rez you, but a level 60 of any class can farm the keys (and then you can loot them on your naked main)

But, if you don't have a higher-level alt, you'll need to keep a duplicate set on a lower-level alt (and be extremely careful not to get them killed as they escort you back), or "corpse" a backup set of keys (which requires eating a death if you can't find a high level Cleric). And if you don't prepare somehow, you'll have to just never die ... or else get good at naked duo-ing

I absolutely second TOFS I think if you two duoed your way to the top while you leveled you would have such fun.

That dungeon is so easily missed becasue its weirdness.. but man to have a pal that you could learn that place together with would be great fun!

As a new chanter on this server (untwinked) I had the coldain shawl in mind (didn't do it on live) I did Crystal cavern solo on orcs 34-36ish and then spiders 37-40, then I did tentacles until I got a Blackened crystalline robe, which you'd probably like. You'd have no issue as a duo on orcs but spiders, the occasional drachnid retainer pather would probably be a problem.

Things you could do to get better gear at your level:

Rod of insidious glamour quest is a must, you'll use it until you get epic or zladi's heart. Do this ASAP.

Incandescent mask quest is worth it too because that mask will last a long time. The incandescent gloves aren't great when you can get iksar skin gloves for 200pp but better than nothing.

Oggok: hang around until you can loot a crude stein.
Unrest undead barkeep: 2 opalline earrings.
Splitpaw gnolls for the 5cha necklace
Uguk for bracelets of woven grass
Uguk for gatorscale sleeves
Sol A bar for drake-hide leggings

Mystic cloak isn't a bad idea but the mob is like on a 1h respawn timer and has like 5% chance to pop. Took me 24 cycles to get him. You won't really find a better cloak until late game but it is a gigantic waste of time if you don't do it semi AFK while doing something else IRL.

If you have some money you could also get Jewelcrafting up to make yourself charisma bracers/rings/neck.

If you have your sights set on the shawl you could also tradeskill to get ready for the first few steps which would award you the decent seal of thoridain.

Low hanging fruits money wise that you can't farm yourself

Iksar skin gloves
Loam encrusted/spider fur lined shoes
Kromzek surveyor scope
Gypsy medallion
Mantle of the elder serpent/loam encrusted amice
Loam encrusted cap

All those are 250pp or less each. The charisma jewelcrafting stuff is also cheap if you don't want to make it yourself.

Oh and impskin gloves aren't worth it when you can buy iksar skin gloves for 250pp. Did 90 cycles of that camp, got kindle 8 times and got 8 rings. If the drop rate is =>10% it is a huge waste of time. Money is good if you kill nonstop though.

They're a solid option for most casters but enchanters are lucky enough for not having to camp those heh.

Oh and for OP, as far as level goes you guys have a lot of options. Not sure what necro looks like at 32 but while you as a chanter can go anywhere, it is my understanding necros do somewhat better on undeads so you might want to do TOFS, kaesora and later city of mist to play more to your advantages than splitpaw/CC/solA. Places like splitpaw and mistmore have high ZEM though so it might be worth passing on undeads but you'd have to test... or just go with the area you like the most.

Dual charm with slow though, you guys could go on a rampage.

Yeah, I liked the risk/reward of them. Velious offers too many glove slots that are just as good for like free!

I liked how gloves for casters were pretty wack until you can kill the mighty IMP surrounded by jewls and next to an efreeti! So deep in the mines nobody will ever find you! And you may never get out!

And then you leave with these like, really cool sounding IMP sking loves.. IMP skin.. what is that like!?? I bet very much like shark skin, but SO smooth on the underside.

Its like, man so much magical magic in classic EQ.

Don't do the last season, just don't.

Its funny, I try really really hard to get past the post John Rysh-Davies episodes... but eventually I cash out. I don't think I've made it to the end, end actually, and I've tried many times! I love sliders.

I've tried to like the cro-mag storyline and gave it as best a chance as I could when I did the last EQ TLP, but ugh it just is so bad lol

I will get through it one day!

God i Love the john davies episodes though, every one is so greatly horrible but perfection.
