View Full Version : So what alcohol do you like?

Personally, I've never been to a bar and I'm 28 years old. I've never dated and I'm a lonely virgin. That being said I experimented with alcohol a little bit since I moved out into my own apartment and I like Scotch and Martini Cocktails the most. The Martini is just so nice I bought the classic V-shaped Martini glasses and I just drank one. 40 ml Dolin Dry Vermouth and 80 ml Tanqueray NoTen is where it's at! I love Martinis and I love neat Scotch. If you drink Scotch or Bourbon I highly recommend drinking it with NO ice and at room temperature.
Do NOT put your Scotch/Bourbon/Gin into a refrigerator it will ruin the taste. I only put Vermouth and Vodka into the refrigerator... That being said once more, a Martini has to be made with Gin, not Vodka, and stirred not shaken. James Bond is a loser! Also I've never understood those people saying alcohol makes you addicted or something.
As for me, I buy one scotch or everything for a martini and I drink it up with like 1 scotch or 1 martini every one or two days until it's empty. Then I wait two weeks or so and if I like I buy another alcohol. Don't feel like I'm an addict and I don't see the drawbacks of it. I started working out 1st march and the alcohol doesn't deny the workout. You only feel a little bit drunk after 1 martini or 1 glass of scotch so I don't understand why people say if you drink more than 1 beer/alcohol in a week you're an addict. That's quite unrealistic imo.
Also I never drank any alcohol until I was 24 and my work collegues introduced me to beer. I literally drank energy drinks and water. Now I switched to black coffee and alcohol. Feels better! So what is your favorite alcohol? Personally, I don't feel like I'm addicted to alcohol I just like to drink it up fast since the vermouth has a life span of 6 months. I only like Martinis and Scotch though I haven't tried an Old Fashioned or a Daiquiri and I've never been to a bar yet because I'm shy.
I would like to get a wife but I don't want to put in the effort and go to a church or a bar. I am scared to go there alone and I don't have any friends. But I'm working out and I'll look better and better! So enough of me, you Everquest nerds what kind of alcohol or any drinks do you like? I like scotch, martinis, black coffee and energy drinks. My favorite color is soft pink and I like cotton candy. I'm not gay.

If this text seems weird to you, know that I was diagnosed with asperger, psychosis, undifferentiated schizophrenia when I was 16 and I take anti-psychotics since then, 10 mg Olanzapine, so my brain is fried. I can't sleep 1 second without those pills and I've been to a mental hospital twice. If I don't take Olanzapine I think I could die from it. They are heavily addictive pills. Once you take 'em for a year or more, you can never sleep without them. They are made by Eli Lilly or so and they made them heavily addictive to get more money. Olanzapine is the most addictive stuff ever, but at least you can function and work in society as long as you take them. I mean I can write this text and appear crazy to you. That's much better than being a cripple!

What the hell is that? You drink Gin on itself, on the rocks? I tried it, you have to like alcohol really much for that, and it's ok, but neat Scotch/Bourbon is better.

When I do drink, it's the absolute cheapest vodka I can find. Lowest cal liquor per unit of alcohol- beer is what makes people fat. I don't understand why people buy grey goose and shit, especially for mixing. It's just water and ethanol, gimme that $4.50 pint good sir.

Olanzapine/Zyprexa is pretty stronk as antipsychotics go. If it ever became a problem, Risperidone is same category more commonly prescribed (here anywho) and might be a bit easier in term of side effects. Up to the Dr tho
Cotten candy I loved as a kid, now I find kinda gross tho. Icees/slushies are the same way for me. The only candy I ever want to do these days are the delicious bars: snickers, Kit Kat, or Milky Way (if it’s the only one left)
Most alcohol tastes gross so I only drink for the buzz. I’ll take a pic of two kinds that I keep stocked in fridge either for me or because I’ve never met a girl that doesn’t like either. The coffee-flavored ball especially is super good, and stronk
I tried to fake enjoying a few IPA’s at a spring training tailgating game yesterday with co-workers. It was their beer their brauts so I tried to pretend that IPA’s don’t all taste like piss water. And I tried to think of things to say about golf for like 3 straight hours because that seemed to be where they kept convo going. And I hate golf lol
That’s what makes dating/socializing easier, the best kept secret. It’s not alcohol. It’s practice. Just like any other activity. The more often you do it, the easier it gets

I bought Beluga Vodka. So you saying it's a waste of money? To be honest I probably couldn't tell it from cheap vodka but I never tried cheap vodka. Wonder what makes Grey Goose and Beluga and Belvedere Vodka so expensive anyway and if it's worth it... They are all 40 euros.
johnny walker, because of a scene in a tv show lol

ever tried the brita water filter with cheap vodka? mythbusters wasn't kidding, or the placebo effect is strong.
i'm also just used to the nice burn of cheap vodka. taaka pink lemonade is solid. burnett's vanilla is solid, but only 60 proof. old russian standard was good and fairly cheap but it's hard to find these days for some reason.
i haven't drank since new year's and this isn't helping me stay away, exiting this thread now.

I used to enjoy a neat Scotch every now and then too, Balvenie and Oban were my go-tos for something smooth. I’m also picky with Martinis; they’ve gotta be gin, stirred, dry, and in the classic glass or it just doesn’t feel right. I don’t drink much anymore, though. Got to a point where even casual drinking didn’t feel so casual mentally, even if it wasn’t frequent. It’s wild how everyone’s body and brain react differently, and what seems totally fine for one can slowly mess with another.
I’m in Abbeycare right now (https://www.abbeycarefoundation.com/) actually, and it changed how I think about what “normal” drinking even means. More people struggle quietly than you'd think.

Isn’t that the kind that’s not edible?
Ya’ll got nothing on my homeless alcoholic clients. I had one that would put hand sanitizer (stolen of course) into Gatorade (also stolen) and drank that. He had all kinds of CNS problems from it
And had another who would steal vanilla extract (for cooking) from stores and drink that
Edit: also had one who would drink cologne

i remember when they confiscated my giant bottle of Listerine out of my bag when my parents sent me to rehab, i was like "wait, people do what?"
Yellow Listerine, or Listerine Original, is typically 54 proof, which translates to 26.9% alcohol. This is a higher alcohol content than many beers, wines, and even some liquors

Ethanol is what you can drink, all other kinds fuck your shit up in various ways. Listerine does contain ethanol but a modified form so that it's poisonous, which is kind of ironic when you think about it- kids can buy listerine and it's actually *more* dangerous, on purpose, than normal drinkable forms of alcohol, which they cannot buy.
It's all poison at the end of the day. I have huge respect for and kind of envy people who abstain completely.

Round these parts the game is played with a pair of 2l (2x70 oz) bottles of cider, which is not the kids drink you use that word for but a 7.5% alcohol fermented apple drink. It seemed appropriate to bring up considering your name.
The game is called ‘Edward Ciderhands’.
Never played it myself, of course.

Fwiw, isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) metabolizes into acetone (nail polish remover).
Don't do that.
