Every couple of years I come back to these red forums and its the same thing.
The very same Degenerates who made the red server unplayable, crying for a wipe or trying to coerce players from blue and green to join red.
A new server is never going to happen, and in all honesty it shouldn't.
Open world everquest pvp, especially on project 1999 is dead for a reason,
Forum nobodies, bothering server staff for over a decade with the same results.
So heres an invitation to show off your skills in front of an audience, and not the same half-dozen people you have been doing it for, for years.

"Thursday Night Fights" A weekly PvP league with brackets and rules.
Most of you have characters on green.
Green is a stable server with a good population unlike red.
No expansions are coming. There is no gear wall stopping you.
Hell, no one is even asking you to do any of the foot work.
Just to join us and engage in the type of fun many of you claim you have been searching for.
If your interested send a message to Ruinen in game (green server) or add MutinyLLC on discord.

Nah.
Look, I admire the effort. I get it. Fight nights on a blue box, that's cool.
This server didn't die because people on the forums bitched and whined, though. That's silly.
The server died because staff were not passionate about pvp servers to begin with, and because a low-pop server needs some design concessions to be sustainable.
Which I understand. Why waste the time on a few shitheads when blue is your breadwinner and what you personally liked better?
But, supposing any of them ever read this, I'll make the same suggestion I did 15 years ago: just reset the server. Do that every two years. Increase the exp rate. That's it, and that's all. Now you have a seasonal red server that people will play. Because somehow modern pvp MMORPGs still suck.
Love,
One of those red server shitheads, who ran VZTZ back in 2008 and has since spent 17 years in the gaming industry.
blue is your breadwinner
Dumb dumb says dumb things.
There is no bread here.
PvPer no wanna PvP?
Skerd.

Because nobody cares about EQ pvp. It is a slow ass unbalanced game most people are playing for nostalgia's sake in an era where MMOs are mostly a fading niche. There isn't going to be a christmas miracle here.

EQ PVP wasn't at all popular in the classic timeline either. It's always been niche. Usually populated by people that love to grief other players, rather than playing the game with a little PvP mixed in.

Says who. Yes there were less servers and ultimately less players but there would be up to 500 people in gfay trading and pvping on tallon zek during kunark. Big wars between gnomes and elves everyday. Just for fun nothing to gain, not even yellow text. Half of the people naked which is really fun because your spells actually landed and did damage.
All of that is impossible to replicate in this day & age unfortunately for a multitude of reasons

Says the total lack of players on any PVP servers, that's who. The ones that did play on them boasted about how they'd camp the newbies and grief them.
EQ PVP has always been terrible, the game wasn't designed with PVP in mind.

Oh come on, in TZ Faydark is was mostly roleplaying. That was the attraction of the PVP servers, the perceived potential for conflict, not the actuality of it. Most sessions would go with no major pvp.
